Court: Texas can cut off Planned Parenthood funds

The ruling comes as conservative groups across the nation try to pass and enforce laws to put Planned Parenthood out of business and make getting an abortion more difficult. Earlier this year the same court upheld a new Texas law requiring doctors to perform a sonogram and provide women with a detailed description of the fetus before carrying out an abortion.

This is confusing. I thought proponents of Planned Parenthood claimed that govt dollars went to providing abortion services. So Texas withholding funds shouldn't affect them at all, right?

Now that you mention it I am also confused.

But what they can fund with one dollar they can fund with another, money is fungable , so it is probly disengenuous to say that one bit is providing abortions and another part is not.

Texas Gov. Rick Perry announced that his state would rather forfeit $35 million in annual federal funding for the Women's Health Program, a Medicaid waiver program, than see any more state tax dollars go to pro-abortion organization Planned Parenthood.

Go Rick Go!

Tell DC we dont want your F-ing money.....we think the babies are more important!

Yeah, you should adopt a couple of dozen of the little buggers.

Yeah, you should adopt a couple of dozen of the little buggers.
Such lameness is hardly worth a response...
But I'll bite anyway
There are plenty of adoptive parents waiting to adopt the babies you approve of being murdered.
And support of baby killing even has an element of racism in it too!

Yeah, you should adopt a couple of dozen of the little buggers.

Would that be a problem?

It would not be a problem for me if he were to raise a couple dozen excess unwanted babies.

But I imagine it would be more than he would be willing to deal with.

Forcing women to give birth against their will is bad enough: they should not also be forced to raise them. They might do a terrible job of it and they could become lawless bands of marauding felons. Better that CU4 raise them, being as he thinks they are so important.

Perhaps it would be better if women were never forced to become pregnant.

I am beginning to see a parallel point of view for opponents of Voter ID and Proponents of free contraceptives mandated in insurance policies.

Your assumption is that women only have sex in order to become pregnant, and that all birth control methods are somehow predictable. Both are faulty assumptions.

Black women should have the right to have an abortion, just like all women. Sonograms are certainly not required for this. The fewer unwanted children that are born, the fewer criminals we will have. There is a definite drop in crime as a result of BC pills becoming available in the 1960's.

I consider killing criminals preemptive- ly to be extreme.
