In an explosive exchange outside the U.S. Conference of Mayors meeting in Washington, D.C., security guards for billionaire New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg accosted senior Talk Radio Network investigative reporter Jason Mattera when he asked the mayor about his strong support for gun control. In the video, Bloomberg is seen surrounded by security. Mattera approaches Bloomberg and asks, "In the spirit of gun control, will you disarm your entire security team?" Bloomberg's reply: "Uh, you, we'll get right back to you." "Why can you defend yourself but not the majority of Americans?" Mattera asks as the mayor walks away. "Look at the team of security you've got. And you're an advocate for gun control?"

When Bloomberg's security team or the Secret Service go on a rampage and massacre schoolchildren, then this silly argument would make sense.
Until that happens, it is just stupid.
-
NRA propaganda.

Mattera isn't associated with the NRA , he is more a Breitbart, O'Keefe kind of guy.

This is an NRA theme. Did you see the NRA ad about the President's children going to a school that had armed security? Same theme.

Mattera is a blue state resident. Who am i to question the nuances of his humor.

When SIRS, Plane, and CU go on a rampage and massacre schoolchildren....
until that happens confiscating our guns is just stupid.

Perhaps you do spend a lot of time in a gun free zone, I don't know about you.
How many mayors of big citys , Congresspersons, senior executives of government and industry , big name entertainers and Royal persons spend not a single moment in a gun free environment?
-
Who cares?
This is about as silly a bit of nonsense as you gun nuts have ever posted.
-
Can't answer a simple question, so deflect with still more irrational proclamations.....SOP. Should have answered "What difference does it make?"
-
Resolved> Gun free zones are a special hazard, almost all multiple shootings ocur in gun free zones.
-
I imagine that I do indeed spend most of my time in gun free zones, or better yet, gun nut-free zones. Meaning zones free from gun nuts, not zones in which the guns are nutless.
-
You can imagine anything you want (you pretty much do all the time), FACT remains that pretty much all these massacres occur in designated gun free zones
-
I find your comparing professional armed bodyguards to gun nuts like sirs to be ridiculous. An assassin can easily identify an armed bodyguard and therefore would refrain from shooting the mayor.
sirs strolling around is just another guy, no deterrent to anyone unless he pulls out his Trusty Roscoe, in which case is is almosrt as likely to be considered a second assassin as a protector.

Somebody's been watching waaaaay too much Hollywood TV

when you get in troubble , do you dial 911 to end the gun free nature of your space
question mark is not working either

==============================================
I have never gotten in "troubble", but I would call 911, it is the logical thing to do. I am sure as hell not going to wait around for some gun nut like sirs to screw things up and shoot himself in the foot.
Gun nuts serve no purpose. I have no use for them.

Because the person coming, HAS A GUN ::)
-
In 70 years I have never been threatened with a gun.
I bet you haven't, either.
-
Of course, that wasn't the point now, was it. But cudos on the deflection effort ::)
-
Of course it is the point.
You might as well advocate that everyone run around carrying elephant guns to protect themselves from charging rogue elephants, or harpoons to prepare to defend themselves against Moby Dick.
-
Of course it is the point.
Of course its not the point. The point is calling 911, IF a situation ever does come about with someone waving a gun around, and you "getting into trouble". That IS what you said you'd do.
This might be some incredible revelation, but unless you're a gang member or in an active military zone, MOST folks never think they're going to run into someone with a gun. Myself included. It's just nice to know that IF that were to happen, I have more than waiting perhaps 10+minutes, to defend me and my loved ones
So, no, a simple concealed firearm, with the person having taken safety classes in their use, will do just fine.
-
In 70 years I have never been threatened with a gun.
in several decades I have never had my house burn down.....so why have insurance?
in several decades I've never called a 9-1-1 ambulance...so why have them?
in several decades I've never needed a life jacket in my boat...so whats the need?
in several decades I've never needed an airbag in my car....so why have one?
in several decades I've never needed a smoke alarm...so why have one at home?
ect x 10000
-
D'OH........will you just stop with that logical nonsense ;)

True, crime is extremely unlikely in this country .
It would save a lot of money to fire all those policemen too.
Or, if crime was easier to accoplish safely,it might become more common.
-
Gun nuts and vigilantes are not going to lower the crime rate.
-
While responsible gun owners will, and do
-
Most of the country consists of places where only the police and security have guns, so this is unsurprising.
I can't recall many places where they announce that everyone can bring their guns. I can only think of gun shows and a few menacing signs outside pawnshops (forget about the dog: Owner is ARMED).
-

While most of the country consists of places where massacres occur where no guns are allowed, so this is unsurprising as well. Not to mention that those places in this country with more permissive gun carry laws, have less violent crime than those places with far stricter gun laws. This too is unsurprising
-
Gun nuts and vigilantes are not going to lower the crime rate.
If a huge number of firearms are made illeagal the crime rate will certainly rise.
