It is kinda curious with all this costly our phone have ,very little is done to stop theft. The article did point out how profitable it is for business to have easily stolen phone. Does explain why no phone has a security strap. A simple cord from phone to beltloop. They exist for keys and wallets but not for phones.

The plus side might be it'll get more people to buy smart phone. I often hear people saying they have the free cheap phone so they dont worry about getting ripped off. Even brag thieve wont touch it.
Upon further research i didnt know they steal kids phone. I cant help think they shouldnt be using them to begin with.

I always thought of a killswitch for guns but its simply a repulsive concept to gun owners

That has been invented , but not made dependable .
This would be a very valuable accessory for Policemen who are shot with their own wepon now and then.

The drawback can be scarey , gang can get a hacker to make something that disable them at a distance

I don't like this , if it works well nine times out of ten , it will be the tenth time just when I really needed it.

I already see the flaw. that ring can easily not register to the gun. which account for the 10% failure. I would expect a higher failure rate because of the ring.
