Now...I'm not a John McCain supporter, in many respects. He has some conservative credentials, but they are few and far between much of his moderate if not left leaning record. That said, he did serve our country, he was captured & was a POW, and he has permament damage to both shoulders as a result. Not necessarily a "war hero", but someone who should be granted a massive amount of respect for his service to our country and what he endured at the hands of our enemy
But for Trump to apparently dismiss much of that with some rather recent callous remarks about his being captured, does not do Trump well in gaining support from folks like myself. Yes, he doesn't bow to PC, which is a GREAT thing, and I would still support him, if he were the GOP nominee....but....he appears to be validating my initial conclusions of his credibility as a candidate.
We shall see
-
Trump claims that he supports Veterans that did NOT get captured.
I wonder is Trump's plane is immune from being shot down, and it if were shot down, would Trump admit that its being shot down was his fault?
Trump is an egotistical prick, and he always has been one.
He is the greatest gift the Democratic Party has received in many, many MANY years.
-
You mean like Hillary is for the GOP?
-
No, not at all. It is the retarded right wingers who hate Hillary. Millions have been spent on anti-Hillary propaganda since Bill was elected.
You and the rest of the ratbag right are not typical Americans. You are fringe dwellers of limited mental capacity.
Hillary has experience in the White House. Trump has experience at being a nutcase.
-
Actually....yes at all. The left wing lunatics hate anything and everything GOP. Millions have been spent on Anti-GOP ads. The left still tries to blame Bush for all of Oblather's misery he causing. I'd say the hateful left is not a very accurate portrayal of the electorate. And I see that Hillary couldn' sway the masses in the recent Democrat centric gathering, where Sanders had the place shaking.
Poor Hillary....can't wait until the Oligarchy puts here in as their bought & payed for token Democrat nominee
-
Too bad you hate to wait.
It's not like the Republican'ts are going to be able to defeat the Democratic nominee.
They have to do better than the hapless Romney at getting Latino votes, and that is NOT HAPPENING.
Trump is the spit and image of the hateful Yanqui imperialist.
-
Wrong again......my dad once said I have the patience of Job. I have no problem waiting. It'll be a perverted pleasure watching Hillary squirm thru the election process
-
First you say you can't wait, then you say you enjoy waiting.
The Force has left this one, it appears. Flipitty flop, floppity flip.
-
You do have issues with context, don't you. Stunning for a language professor.
1st) The statement "can't wait", is rhetorical....as in I can't wait for the last Mockinjay installment or the next Star Wars movie. Of course I can, its just referencing how eager I am to see it
2nd) the statement "can't wait" also doesn't immediately equate with hating to wait. Why you would immediately latch on to that emotional context is apparently....something you have to work out
3rd) the fact I had to correct your error also doesn't equate that I "enjoy waiting". Yet another erroneusly applied emotion
I neither hate nor love waiting as a term of affection. I simply have to wait when I must
-
Have fun waiting, or don't. Have rhetorical fun or actual fun.
Perhaps the Donald Trump Butt Plug might help. ;D
-
Leave it to the "mature" liberal
-
Are you implying that butt plugs are not an "adult" subject?

Trump: Statement on John McCain
I am not a fan of John McCain because he has done so little for our Veterans and he should know better than anybody what the Veterans need, especially in regards to the VA. He is yet another all talk, no action politician who spends too much time on television and not enough time doing his job and helping the Vets. He is also allowing our military to decrease substantially in size and strength, something which should never be allowed to happen.
Furthermore, he was extremely disrespectful to the thousands upon thousands of people, many of whom happen to be his constituents, that came to listen to me speak about illegal immigration in Phoenix last week by calling them "crazies". These were not "crazies"---these were great American citizens.
I have great respect for all those who serve in our military including those that weren't captured and are also heroes. I want to strengthen our military and take care of our Veterans. I want to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN especially for those that serve to protect our freedom. I am fighting for our Veterans!
In addition to doing a lousy job in taking care of our Vets, John McCain let us down by losing to Barack Obama in his run for President!
(https://scontent-dfw1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xtp1/v/t1.0-9/10254014_10153522743264901_6148159605451579628_n.jpg?oh=0f7e384057934598bfcbff6864d26507&oe=565038D0)
-
McCain did not intentionally allow himself to be defeated by President Obama, and I am pretty sure that he would have been a far worse president.
Being photographed in the same room as someone later determined to be guilty of something is hardly a crime.
Veterans are treated pretty well, actually.
And Phoenix is a hotbed of craziness. If those people do not like McCain calling them crazy, then they can vote for his opponent.
And what Trump said about McCain is the actual topic here and what Trump said was asinine. "I like people who do not get captured"
Next week, perhaps he can pay a visit to a Veterans hospital and declare "I like veterans who did not allow their limbs to be blown off."
That should really help his popularity. Trump is the greatest gift that the Rebublican'ts could ever give the Democrats.
Praise Jeezus for Donald Trump!
-
McCain calls Trump supporters "crazies"...
Then it's "boo-who" time when Trump punches back.
That's exactly what Trump supporters like about Trump.
Hey maybe we don't agree with every detail Trump says,
(almost no one every agrees 100% with the candidate they support)
but we've had enough of Republicans that "play nice".
We want a "mean sum-bitch" to fight the "corrupt entrenched Washington Mafia"
that is in the process of destroying our country.
"Playing nice" got us to the current huge problems we now face.
-
A President Trump would be a major disaster. When a President does not get along with the rest of the politicians, nothing works. President Carter was a far more polite and diplomatic guy that asshole Trump and he could not get much of anything done. Then he was tricked by Kissinger into letting the nasty little Shah into the country and his career was ruined.
Trump would fare far worse than that.
He lies and he cheats on most of his business deals and has left many an investor (some of them mobsters, others just naive and stupid) holding the bag with no loss to Trump whatever. he would not do this to other countries: he would do it to other Americans. We have seen that he has only contempt for anyone who criticizes him.
He has ZERO chance of getting the GOP nomination. This is just a publicity stunt to get attention.
-
A President Trump would be a major disaster.
Yes Trump would be a disaster....for the corruption that now runs our country.
Trump would upset their little gravy-train of Demo-Publican crony-corporatism.
Ya know...the "we'll donate millions to your Clinton Foundation if you pass this bill".
-
He would be a disaster for EVERYONE.
Egomaniacs should not run countries. Mussolini and Stalin are pretty good examples of this. So was Burlesconi in Italy. And that clown that runs Turkmenistan.
So far 67% of the people polled seem to hate him. That does not bode well for his election.
-
Egomaniacs should not run countries.
yeah sure!

No dumb insult or copied photo you have downloaded about President Obama makes Trump in any war less of a grandstanding boor with delusions that he is qualified to lead any country.
Barack Obama does not deliberately insult people: on the contrary, he is diplomatic, tactful and polite. Trump picks stupid fights over non issues just to call attention to himself.
Whether or not he thinks John McCain is a hero, or os less a hero because he was captured is not important to anyone on this planet. It is one man's value judgement. The implied idea is that McCain deliberately allowed himself to be shot down, that if he had somehow been more brave, he would have avoided being shot down. And that is just absurd.
Imagining a Trump presidency is easy. On Monday he would insult someone, on Tuesday, friends of the insulted party would demand and apology, and on Wednesday, President Trump would refuse, adding more insults to the apology. Real issues would be ignored, complicated issues like foreign relations and the budget would be swept aside because of Trump's constantly tooting his own horn and saying dumb shit.
And, seriously, we have all heard enough bad hair jokes about The Donald to last every one of all the nine lives of every cat on the continent.
-
Barack Obama does not deliberately insult people
He does it all the damn time....espeically with his "my way or the highway" approach to working with those that don't agree with him
-
He would be a disaster for EVERYONE.
Egomaniacs should not run countries. Mussolini and Stalin are pretty good examples of this. So was Burlesconi in Italy. And that clown that runs Turkmenistan.

lol.....and what was that last poll I saw regarding those who like vs dislike Hillary again? I assume, if we're to remain consistent, that polling does not bode well for her election, either
-
President Obama ois constantly polite to everyone. I cannot imagine that eh would pick a fight witj McCain as Trump just did.
You do not know what you are taking about, sirs.
Go look for weapons of mass destruction or fake birth certificates or something.
-
Barack Obama does not deliberately insult people: on the contrary, he is diplomatic, tactful and polite.
yeah sure....nothing like spiking the ball on about half the American population
from a guy that in 2008 said "I believe marriage is between a man and a woman.
I am not in favor of gay marriage."

That is now a dead issue except for the rabid right.
I have nothing at all against a politician that can change his mind, especially about a new position on an issue that harms no one.
And once more, no matter what you say about Obama, true or untrue, makes Trump a suitable president. Obama is not even running.
-
I do believe the point Cu4 was accurately able to demonstrate is that if this country can elect one of the most polarizing insultive Presidents towards any and everyone who doesn't toe his ideological line, that this country has ever seen, means that the people could easily elect a President Trump
-
That is now a dead issue except for the rabid right.
That was not the point, the point was Obama is every bit the asshole Trump is.
BTW.....are you saying half the country is "rabid right"?
The country is deeply divided over this issue.
Obama knew this and still acted the the pompous jerk he is.

-
President Obama is always respectful, and Trump almost never is.
But Obama is not the point. He is not running for president in 2016, and Trump is.
No amount of dumping on Obama, true or false, makes Trump an acceptable president.
-
The cool-aide runs thick, in many a diehard toe tag liberal. One more time...if Obama, the personification of arrogant, egotistical, & polarizing, can be elected as an "acceptable President", so can a President Trump
-

Again I am all for you morons nominating this egotistical bastard.
Of all the flakes and clowns that want the GOP nomination, Trump would be the easiest one to defeat.

Here's why Obama and Hillary must stop Donald Trump at all costs
July 9, 2015
by Wayne Allyn Root
Hi. I'm Wayne Allyn Root for Personal Liberty. Some people are getting very nervous: Barack Obama, Valerie Jarrett, Eric Holder, Hillary Clinton and Jon Corzine, to name just a few. And I know why.
I wrote a book titled "The Murder of the Middle Class" about the unholy conspiracy between big government, big business and big media. They all benefit by the billions of dollars from this partnership, and it's in all of their interests to protect one another. It?s one for all and all for one.
It's a heck of a filthy relationship that makes everyone filthy rich, everyone except the American people. We get ripped off.
We're the patsies. But for once, the powerful socialist cabal and the corrupt crony capitalists are scared. I've never seen them this outraged, this vicious, this motivated or this coordinated. Never in all my years in politics have I seen anything like the way the mad dogs of hell have been unleashed on Donald Trump.
When white supremacist David Dukes ran for governor of Louisiana, even he wasn't treated with this kind of outrage, vitriol and disrespect. When a known fraud, scam artist and tax cheat like Al Sharpton ran for president, I never saw anything remotely close to this. The over-the-top reaction to Trump by politicians of both parties, the media and the biggest corporations of America has been so swift and insanely angry that it suggests they are all threatened and frightened like never before.
Why? Duke was never going to win. Sharpton was never going to win. Ron Paul was never going to win. Ross Perot was never going to win as a third-party candidate. Those candidates either didn't have or couldn't spare the billion dollars it takes to win the presidency. But Donald Trump can self-fund that amount tomorrow and still have another billion left over to pour into the last two-week stretch run before Election Day.
No matter how much they say to the contrary, the media, business and political elite understand that Trump is no joke.
He could actually win and upset their nice cozy apple cart.
It's no coincidence that everyone has gotten together to destroy The Donald. No, this is a coordinated conspiracy led by President Barack Obama himself. Obama himself is making the phone calls and giving the orders; he's the ultimate intimidator who plays by the rules of Chicago thug politics.
Why is this so important to Obama? It's because most of the other politicians are part of the "old boys club." They talk big, but in the end they won't change a thing. Why? They are all beholden to big-money donors. They are all owned by lobbyists, unions, lawyers, gigantic environmental organizations and multinational corporations like Big Pharma or Big Oil. Or they are owned lock, stock and barrel by foreigners like George Soros owns Obama or foreign governments own Hillary with their Clinton Foundation donations.
These run-of-the-mill establishment politicians are all puppets owned by big money. But there's one man, and only one man, who isn't beholden to anyone. There?s one man who doesn't need foreigners, or foreign governments, or George Soros, or the United Auto Workers, or the teachers union, or the Service Employees International Union, or the bar association to fund his campaign.
Billionaire tycoon and maverick Donald Trump doesn't need anyone's help.
That means he doesn't care what the media says. He doesn?t care what the corporate elites think. That makes him very dangerous to the entrenched interests. That makes Trump a huge threat. Trump can ruin everything for the bribed politicians and their spoiled slave masters.
Don't you ever wonder why the GOP has never tried to impeach Obama? Don't you wonder why John Boehner and Mitch McConnell talk a big game, but never actually try to stop Obama? Don't you wonder why Congress holds the purse strings, yet has never tried to defund Obamacare or Obama's clearly illegal executive action on amnesty for illegal aliens? Bizarre, right? It defies logic, right?
Well, first, I'd guess many key Republicans are being bribed. Secondly, I believe many key Republicans are being blackmailed. Whether they are having affairs, or secretly gay, or stealing taxpayer money, the National Security Agency knows everything.
Ask former House Speaker Dennis Hastert about that. The government even knew he was withdrawing large sums of his own money from his own bank account. Trust me: The NSA, the SEC, the IRS and all the other three-letter government agencies are watching every Republican political leader. They know everything.
Thirdly, many Republicans are petrified of being called "racists." So they are scared to ever criticize Obama or call out his crimes, let alone demand his impeachment.
Fourth, why rock the boat? After defeat or retirement, if you're a "good boy," you've got a $5 million-per-year lobbying job waiting.
The big-money interests have the system gamed. Win or lose, they win.
But Trump doesn't play by any of these rules. Trump breaks up this nice, cozy relationship between big government, big media and big business. All the rules are out the window if Trump wins the presidency. The other politicians will protect Obama and his aides, but not Trump.
Remember: Trump is the guy who publicly questioned Obama's birth certificate. He questioned Obama's college records and how a mediocre student got into an Ivy League university.
Now, he's doing something no Republican has the chutzpah to do. He's questioning our relationship with Mexico; questioning why the border is wide open; questioning why no wall has been built across the border; questioning if allowing millions of illegal aliens into America is in our best interests; questioning why so many illegal aliens commit violent crimes yet are not deported; and questioning why our trade deals with Mexico, Russia and China are so bad.
Trump has the audacity to ask out loud why American workers always get the short end of the stick. Good question.
I'm certain Trump will question what happened to the almost billion dollars given in a rigged no-bid contract to college friends of Michelle Obama at foreign companies to build the defective ObamaCare website.
By the way, that tab is now up to $5 billion.
Trump will ask if Obamacare's architects can be charged with fraud for selling it by lying. He will ask if Obama himself committed fraud when he said, "If you like your healthcare plan, you can keep it."
Trump will investigate Obama's widespread IRS conspiracy, not to mention Obama's college records.
Trump will prosecute Clinton and Obama for fraud committed to cover up Benghazi before the election.
How about the fraud committed by employees of the Labor Department when they made up dramatic job numbers in the last jobs report before the 2012 election?
Obama, the multinational corporations and the media need to stop this. They recognize this could get out of control. If left unchecked telling the raw truth and asking questions everyone else is afraid to ask, Trump could wake a sleeping giant.
Trump's election would be a nightmare. Obama has committed many crimes. No one else but Trump would dare to prosecute. He will not hesitate. Once Trump gets in and gets a look at "the cooked books" and Obama's records, the game is over. The gig is up. The goose is cooked.
Holder could wind up in prison. Jarrett could wind up in prison. Obama bundler Corzine could wind up in prison for losing $1.5 billion of customer money.
Clinton could wind up in jail for deleting 32,000 emails, or for accepting bribes from foreign governments while secretary of state, or for "misplacing" $6 billion as the head of the State Department, or for lying about Benghazi.
The entire upper level management of the IRS could wind up in prison. Obamacare will be defunded and dismantled. The Obama crime family will be prosecuted for crimes against the American people. And Obama himself could wind up ruined, his legacy in tatters.
Trump will investigate. Trump will prosecute. Who knows what Trump will do on Day 2?
That's why the dogs of hell have been unleashed on Donald Trump.
I'm Wayne Allyn Root for Personal Liberty. See you next week. God bless America.
-
Again, by all means nominate this jerk.
It would be totally impossible for him to get anything done. Everybody hates Trump, and with good reason.
Any Democrat would slide into the White House like greased lightning.
-
Everybody hates Trump
(yeah sure...then there is reality)
Businessman Donald Trump surged into the lead for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination,
with almost twice the support of his closest rival...
http://www.washingtonpost.com/page/2010-2019/WashingtonPost/2015/07/20/National-Politics/Polling/release_401.xml
-
24% is not any sort of vast mandate. 76% do not prefer Trump.
And it is only July of 2016. There are still 16 months remaining before the elections for this egotistical blowhard to say idiotic things about non issues like McCain not being a hero or lies about Mexico sending rapists. Then there are all the people who have been evicted from their homes by Trump, swindled in his casinos, and have yet to hear about how this creep does business, which is dishonestly.
-
and fewer than a 1/3 think Hillary Hiding Clinton is "honest"
she is a loser "has been" that really never was....
without her husband she is someone nobody has ever heard of

The right wing has been conspiring against Hillary since before Bill was elected.
Bill was a VERY successful president, the most successful since FDR, except for the Monica affair.
Hillary is simply like Bill with no likelihood of another Monica affair.
To say "Hillary without Bill" is foolish. Are they planning to assassinate Bill? Is there any reason at all to assume that Hillary would not consult Bill?
Of course the right wingers hate her. Woman haters hate her. But they are a teensy-tiny minority. As McCain says, they are "crazies".
Like the Trumpsters, also crazies.
-
Hillary is simply like Bill with no likelihood of another Monica affair.
So Hillary has all the unethical baggage, but not the immoral baggage. Yea, that about sums it up
-
What has she done that was immoral?
Get serious!
There is no proof that she is immoral or unethical.
-
How is it that a language professor has such a drastic inability to read and read for context? WHAT PART OF SHE DOESN'T HAVE THE IMMORAL BAGGAGE THAT BILL DOES, DID YOU NOT UNDERSTAND
But there's a mountain load of examples of her unethical behavior. Topped only by her level of incompotence
-
Like you know anything about reality.
-
lol....priceless rebuttal
-
Priceless because the truth is priceless.
-
Your grasp of "truth & reality" wouldn't even make a good daytime drama. Try refocusing on the topics being discussed vs gradeschool namecalling. You do quite a diservice as an example of a learnered professor, with this form of "debate"
-
How is it that a language professor has such a drastic inability to read and read for context? WHAT PART OF SHE DOESN'T HAVE THE IMMORAL BAGGAGE THAT BILL DOES, DID YOU NOT UNDERSTAND
But there's a mountain load of examples of her unethical behavior. Topped only by her level of incompotence
I disagree.
If she comes with Bill she comes with Bills baggage.
-
I do not think that Bill is likely to engage in another Monica-type incident. Bill Clinton was a good president and far better for the people and the economy than either Bush.
-
Bill is baggage, he does not need new incidents.
But if he gets new opportunity why wouldn't he?
Will Hillary rent the Lincoln bedroom at the same rates?
I remember Bill Clintons first two years , total mess.
Didn't Hillary try to do something as co-president then? Some healthcare deal that she couldn't persuade a Democratic Congress to approve?
Then he lost congress to the Republicans and decided to get along with them, things picked up after that.
Bill will probably be a better co-president than Hillary was.
-
Healthcare was greatly affected by campaign donations of the healthcare industry. Both Democrats and Republicans were grotesquely bribed.
-
Healthcare was greatly affected by campaign donations of the healthcare industry. Both Democrats and Republicans were grotesquely bribed.
This the same healthcare industry bunch that helped write "Obamacare"?
-
That'd be them
