NY Times Earnings Fall

Thursday, October 19, 2006

The New York Times Co. reported sharply lower earnings for its third quarter Thursday
on a 4.2 percent decline in advertising revenues and charges for job cuts and the sale
of its stake in a cable network.

I'm glad.  They deserve it.  They're a really shitty paper, an establishment mouthpiece, and they've proven it numerous times.  Jayson Blair.  Judith Miller.  Sitting on the surveillance story till after the elections.  Fuck them.  At least with Murdoch's rags, you KNOW where they stand - - the Times has this absolutely unbearable air of pseudo-impartiality, like they were above it all.  They are the worst of the worst.

If any of you New Yorkers are looking for an alternative to the Times, I heartily recommend the New York Observer.
