First, this a bogus sign.
Second, the fact that the Church is helping out with these problems shows that it is doing its job.
The future would not be more joyous if they simply ignored these things.

There's a church in Sedro-Woolley that hosts AA meetings, NA meetings, Al-anon and Al-ateen meetings, PFLAG meetings, a soup kitchen and various support groups. The thing about your sign though BT, is the sermon title gave it a huge dose of irony.

Soup kitchens tend to be more than once a week affairs, for example.

I was a member of a Church that hosted a free dinner every Wendsday, it was usually spagetti and members ate along with whoever wanted some. It was a big church but not big enough to feed the entire need . Other Churches had other ministrys so that someone in need could get quite a lot of relief by getting a schedule from several .

This brings up a bit of news that is personal , I have been invited to join in the founding of a Church as a Decon or Elder . This is a huge decision for me , Duty is involved but it is a labor of love that I want. If I accept I will be supportive of ministry like these mentioned here , perhaps a food bank , perhaps some other community service , I will be searching for the need we will have the ability to fill.

I crave your opinions but I won't decide based on them , I must pray and seek the lead of the party most interested of all , God himself.
