Passing the Health care bill obliges Limbaugh to spend more time abroad?
What was he thinking?
This could sway some wavering Dem to vote in favor of the lousy thing.
By the way, Costa Rica seems to have socialised medicine that is simple and makes sense.....

I doubt he is endorsing the universal system. He is probably endorsing the medical tourism industry.

Rush is a blowhard, and he is not going to move anywhere.
He has millions, why on Earth would he leave the country because of a medical plan that he can easily supplant with his bug bucks if he does not like it. As it is, the Bahamas, which has excellent doctors, is a 30 minute plane ride away from Palm Beach, where Rush basks in luxury. I bet they could even prescribe Oxy-Contin for him. Of course, the Bahamas has a majority of Black people, which probably does not impress Rush. But there are a coule of mostly White islands there.

I really doubt that this will happen. It assumes that the surgeons that are already in these countries will do nothing if their governments decide to allow foreign doctors to practice medicine in competition with them, which I would deem unlikely at best. And "all rich people" are not going to Costa Rica for surgery, not ever.
Rush said he was moving to CR if the health bill passes, but he won't do this. As I said, Rush is a blowhard. He likes to get his name in the press: it's free publicity.

It sounds like he said what he said, and then went back and had to explain that what he said was not what he meant. I heard what he said the first time.
He is still a blowhard, and I don't think anyone needs to care where he goes and for what.
I would prefer that he retire to a peaceful island, somewhere. Like Kiska. Or perhaps Unakleet.

At that level of wealth creation and public service the more the merryer is the rule.

If they make a Doctors circumstances good enough , they will not have to educate their own .
But also if medicine is enough of an industry , they can probly afford to support it with a good university or two.

There is not going to be any mass immigration of US doctors to Costa Rica: wait and see.
Costa Rica has a very good educational system by Latin American standards. I have hard nothing bad about their medical schools at all. Maybe Rush is ahead of me on that, but I think he probably likes other features of the country. Like the scenery and the women. By the way, do not visit in August: that is what they call "winter" there: it rains constantly and daily: I have never seen such rain anywhere.Only the Pacific coast is dry.

No, it is not the weather. I mentioned that because Costa Rica is utterly delightful EXCEPT when it is raining.
American surgeons would not make more money in Costa Rica. Those that had lots of money could simply invest it in the US and not work at all. Others would be far more likely to migrate to an English-speaking country, or just to move within the US.
A competent surgeon will always be able to make a better living in the US than in Costa Rica. After all, to live in Costa Rica, one would need to have a good working knowledge of Spanish. There are many more prosperous nations where English is all one would need.
Again, I simply do not see this happening, and expect that we will see that it does not happen in the future.
