ironic thing is if he was straight he might not of did as well with the conservatives because he would not of been as anti-gay with the issues.that smoke screen helped his career

I think it is entirely possible to have a logical position of supporting
"Don't Ask - Don't Tell" and to oppose "Homo-Marriage" and be gay.
Statements pretending that you must be "anti-gay" if you oppose
"Homo-Marriage" and support "Don't Ask - Don't Tell" are just a way
to throw mud at people that have come to a different logical conclusion.

possible, but it didn`t happened that way with him .It`s quite common for supporters of gay-marraige to be called gay. I don`t see how the same accusation can`t be made with the opposition. as I said before this is not the 1st time this happened. the earliest I can remember is roy cohn who vocally anti-gay.
