When Republicans and Democrats are horsetradeing to the last moment it tends to go against the Republicans because their power base is full of responsible people.

and how liberal supreme court nominees end up being conservative?
i doubt Kagan will turn into a Souter.
in my opinion we just dont have the "killer instinct" the Left does.

The house simply needs to pass a bill extending the Bush Tax Cuts to all brackets.
If the Senate Dems want to raise the taxes of the lower and middle class it's on them.
If Obama wants to do the same it's on him.
The GOP did its part.
