Title: Short people got , no money
Post by: Plane on April 13, 2016, 01:23:40 PM
http://www.city-data.com/blog/3965-taller-people-earn-more-money/

There is a wage gap , bigger than the gender wage gap, between the ten percent tallest and the ten percent shortest .

I am afraid there is an attractiveness gap as well.

There is even a danger gap , as smaller people get attacked with violence more often than larger people.

When the job is equal , the social problems might still not be ,ugly, small, female, black policewomen have a stack of disadvantages at the same pay as a tall  ,handsome, male  ,white policeman.

Then the tall , handsome, male , white policeman with hardly any awareness of his advantage has better promotion potential not just because of his pale stature and pleasing visage, but because his work history has less trouble in it.

So...

Would it be fair to correct pay with a matrix of advantages given to the disadvantaged?

Especially for jobs like police work where the attitude of the public is of such strong effect.

James Madison weighed in at 122 lbs. and stood 5'4" tall.
I doubt that he would have any chance of being elected in 2016.

You mean this effect is actually worse now than then?

I bet when James Madison stood next to George Washington it looked like Mutt and Jeff.

How did he overcome this disadvantage ?

I mean that in the early 1800's, there were no photographs and most Americans did not know that Madison was a shrimp.
Washington was bald, but wore a wig, so this was also not the PR problem that it might be now.

I though Americans in the past were generally shorter preindustrial due to diet. I'm the tallest in my generation but the kids after me the majority pass 6 ft.

Tall attractive people gets more jobs.....Shocker!!!

The largest people on this planet are the Dutch (and their mostly Catholic close relatives, the Flemish).

This has not happened in Kenya, where most of them live.
The Tutsis had a hard time hanging on in Rwanda as well.
Perhaps Kenyans  and Burundians are less impressed with height.

Are we speaking of human traits , or are these artifacts of our culture?

it's likely something we developed through time. As kids get well fed they get taller and healthier than the parent and then we associate height with attraction as time goes on.

But short women are not exactly losing dates though. Men are alot more disadvantaged in this

Women are submissive, men are dominant, so short women can be more like toys and playthings.

That role requires her partner be tall , wealthy ,strong ect..

So this woman isn't suffering the gender gap, she is exploiting the gender gap.

A woman who would rather be her own success isn't .
But will a tall and wealthy woman try to hook up with a short and underpaid guy?

i say no
I recall a millionaire dating site that talks about some of thier wealthy female clients are solely looking for even more wealthy men. the dificulty in explaining why wealthy men has no reason to go out with them. these women tend to be repulsed by going out with less wealthy men

The way to success for woman has traditionally been to hook up with some rich guy.
Rich women hate the idea of supporting a poor schmuck.

Ok , that is clear enough.

Would this change if both people involved were modern feminists?

This reminds me of Barbra Streisand and "Funny Girl".

We are noticing statistical effects over large numbers of people, there could be a lot of exceptions.

But supposing that Women gain all the pay that would fill the earning gap between them, where are all the guys going to get dates?

I actually know two women who used to support thier spouses but notice I said used to they both were willing but eventually they hit a limit and just had to cut them out of thier lives. The type of personality which a female will support a man tend to pick men who will have a very high probability of being very troublesome in a very scary way. I also know men who want to be completely supported by women but every single one if them can't hold a job and are upset they can't get dates

I just heard Hillary in her victory speech in NY, she mentioned equal pay for women as a real goal.

How can this happen if there is such strong motivation for man to make enough money to attract a date?

What do you mean? This does not make sense.

Dating and equal pay are not related at all.

Dating and equal pay are not related at all.

Haven't we been talking for about a week about how taller and richer is better for romancing women and getting jobs.

If Women really make the same money, who will they be dating?

As long as men have to have more to offer , men will be better motivated to learn, to earn and  to demand raises.

Hillary does not realize that she won't stop the dog from chasing its tail, she will just speed up the rate of rotation.

That is stupid reasoning. Women that are so shallow that they only date rich men do not deserve encouragement.
I prefer the ERA to sucking up to golddiggers.

I would like to mention again "Funny Girl" starring Barbra Streisand and Omar Sharif.

Not so much rich, just to marry up.

How many Women really marry beneath their class?

A woman that marries a shorter , weaker , poorer guy is cutting across the grain.

Such a woman is subject to ridicule and her man to loss of respect.

Not only do men need to make more, women need men who make more.

Men who make a bit of money can find foreign women, who are marrying up just to marry an American.

Have you ever seen a website for women seeking Eastern European Husbands?

Not only do men need to make more, women need men who make more.

That is a sexist statement,  not to mention a grossly materialist one.
Women and men need partners who love, respect and complement them.

Actually it's becoming non-pc to complement(more for me) many has hailed Charlotte proudman a hero for standing up against compliments

Yes , but it is based on observable facts that we have been discussing.

Are you prepared to accuse the common woman of sexist and materialist behaviors?

Just observing the facts as they are found gets me accused of sexist and materialist statement , are statements worse than actions?

I am prepared to simply avoid golddiggers, and have done so.This is a choice for each individual to make and  I have never felt to have a reason to not schedule a second date.

You may be tall , well heeled and handsome.

If so , perhaps you are unaware of the problem?
Title: Re: Short people got , no money

I never met any serious golddiggers but known some close versions of them. I say this because I totally do not have the clothes or looklike anything that would attract such a person but do attract people who just want thier meal and bills paid and thats too trouble  for me also.

I often say a man is judge by the type of watch he wears . I then point at mine and say "walmart $9.99"

................

Even this qualifies as a Man being a provider and the woman being nurturing in other ways.

Would you be comfortable in a relationship with a wealthy or very wealthy woman?
Someone who already had anything you had to offer , except yourself?

It would entirely depend on the woman, of course.

I think I downplayed that. She wanted me to rent an apartment in marin pay for everything and I don't even like her that much. Forgot to mention wanted me to make her a beneficiary on my life insurance. She got very upste i never did that. She's done this before with her ex boyfriend. I'm prettying sure I mention I used to go out with strippers. So my choice in women is far from safe. Im getting better though. Still have both my kidneys

It would entirely depend on the woman, of course.

Meaning it would not bother you , and your cohort would not tease you.

Any problems therefore would rise out of her camp or herself.

This does not make her unusual.

Can a person want such a deal and also be called a feminist?

Can a man be a feminist and refuse to support a woman financially?

Does feminism include women really becoming the top earners in a pair?

I really see little tolerance in our society for a total reversal of household roles.

Women who can earn a lot might have a different attitude now and then, but generally a woman who earns well wants a man who earns even better.

Legally it's better for the man to make less. I believe that's starting to be the current trend. Lately more female than males are graduating and getting high paying jobs and women are noticing men are becoming less motivated to advance. Somehow this has become bothersome to women
