I still use XP and will for some time. Vista is a memory hog and early benchmark results show it to be unbelievably sluggish. I wouldn't run it on anything less than 1GB RAM and 2GB would be preferrable.

I just ordered another Dell laptop and I had them load XP NOT Vista!

I still have XP.
I have another thing I wanted to ask.
The recent Firefox update had a recommended new weather thingie to download, so I did.  Acufox or something like that.  It shows up all the time in the lower bar of the window .   It's very distracting, and I can't find how to get rid of it.  There are three suns, three days of temps all displayed on the bottom bar of the window.  I was way more comfortable when I didn't know how hot it was!  Firefox is great, but nowhere can I find "How to uninstall" something you got from there.
Thank you.

Try Tools->Addons and disable or remove it from there.

Buying any MS product before the second version comes out is always a shaky idea.

I have no complaints about XP.

I figured it`d be a pretty good gamble
it cost like 20-30 dollars more than the os by itself.
so it`ll be not much of a loss
so far it`s a very good downloader
surfing sucks on it,but that`s not the computers fault
learning how to use it by myself is not too much of a challenge though.
I wanna see how long it`ll be before I break down and get a book.
GQ6140 sempron is not too bad of a computer.
but it needs a more memory and a better videocard

Every other call I take on my new job is helping people who hate Vista.  I'd say nevermind to it till at least this time next year.
