It's been a while since I posted in CV. Favorite movies, hated stars, envied actors....etc
There has been a surge of "Reality TV" programming in the past few years. Does anyone have a favorite or most hated RTV show?

There are no more reality shows. It's all done for the cameras. However I do watch a few. Simmons Family Jewels and Hogan Knows Best.

God, Everybody loves HIM.
If you look really closely, you will see episodes of I Love Lucy within the award winning show, Everybody Loves Raymond.
I didn't discover it unil this past year.....I tape every episode I can to watch when I have time. I found out they received an Emmy? WOw..no wonder.
Good writing and great acting in it's comic forum is priceless.
Sad the suffering of the funny and talented Owen Wilson. . .by the way.

Words fail me. All I can say is it's an adult play on journey to the center of the earth and all those terrible 50's horror shows. I love it.

I like Amazing Race. My kids like the Hulk Hogan show.
Favorite current sitcom? I can't think of one off hand, but I too was a huge All in the Family and MASH fan. And WKRP in Cincinnatti.

Yeah, Scruggs played the banjo...at least I think he did on the song.
He also appeared on the show a few times.

Still think the best sitcom of all time is Seinfeld.
Wife and I were talking about how rare it is for shows to wind up on the same list with MASH (it was ok) and ALL IN THE FAMILY (another fave of mine) these days.
I loved FAWLTY TOWERS even though there were only like twelve episodes. Love CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM and THE LARRY SANDERS SHOW.
Not a sitcom but I've been watching the dvds of NORTHERN EXPOSURE. Amazing stuff.
I personally have nothing but disdain for reality shows but I somehow wind up pissed off when my person is kicked off of AMERICAN IDOL every year. I actually said Jennifer Hudson was the best the year she was on.
I've only seen it a couple of times but there is this show from Japan that has people competing on a course. It's like the WORLD'S GREATEST NINJA or something.
These days the only sitcoms I really look forward to watching are 30 ROCK and THE OFFICE. Both are brilliant and funny.

I loved Northern Exposure. One of the best, I'll admit.
Mash was a classic.
All a "sign of the times" s-coms for certain.
What's next? Does anyone have a thought or an idea of what could possibly be the "next high rise reality program, or sit com" on the horizon?
Perhpas with the state of the world today, there will be little room for such humor. Humor at the expense of society's woes as in the day of "All in the Family". The Mash and Family programs were a "sign of painful times".
I like to watch television from time to time, and my "hook" is something that makes sense to my life.
Engagment must make sense to one's life. TV...books....internet.....games......lust......passions.....all have to make sense and fill a need, lest we don't bother.
Creativity is the key to the soul. Einstein would have loved the reality of anything basic. He was a basic sort of man.
Couldn't spell worth crap...and would have been surely criticized on a "message board" of today....
Could there be a scientific "reality show" in the works?
Al Gore would direct that exceptional progamming, I'm sure.

Cooking is the basic and longest lasting reality of realities...
and that brings me to the 6th degree of searation/CONNECTION...Bravo's "Top Chef"!
