Title: ET
Post by: Cynthia on October 21, 2007, 12:24:22 AM
Watched ET with my niece tonight. She's 4.
Tears for the love of the lost soul.
I say.....the message was about paranoia and fear of the unknown and the "different" in spite of it's suffering.

Science Fiction? Who's to say we aren't living that reality now.

Watch the movie again, folks.
Elliot....in the death bed next to ET......bonding with the pain/love and desperation to go home again.

War?
Power?
"I've been to the forest" .....the scientist tells Elliot. "I've been wishing for this since I was 10 years old", he says

Wishing for what?    For the discovery of a miracle. . .a miracle to find the love that is lacking on this planet.

There's something to be said for Spielberg's films.....watch them with many open minds and in varying time periods and you will see the message meets the madness of the times.

ps...the music does something to plug at the heart strings.
Thus playing our emotions....Do we need that again in our society/our world.....
I say yes...........Music the instrument of the world and the only way to find peace among us?

Simple is as simple does...but damn....film tells a secret.
