Wait, what do you mean was the wrong accent? The mother's, or how he described his father's accent? 
Very funny anyway to me, even if I don't know whose accent is wrong. (I'm guessing the mother's. )

yes
the mother is played by the lovely happyslip
a very very talented actress who found youtube fame(the very reason nobody knows her)
her fillipino accent is flawless,but the mother is not filipino.
I bumped into her vids 2 days ago and is a instant fan
proof holywood is losing it`s talents to the internet.
as I said years ago I`m a bigtime short film fan and youtube helps my craving
