3DHS / Re: Druggie Whitney Houston I'm sad for you....BUT
« on: March 02, 2012, 12:37:06 AM »
"The fact is, whether a has a child or not is ENTIRELY HER BUSINESS and NOT ANY OF YOURS. It is that bloody simple."

How can anyone honestly believe this?  Is a one year old independent?  Is a 90 year old with demntia, independent?  In both cases, they are granted life and law protects them from being slaughtered, burned alive in saline, or have their brains sucked out.  And yet, an innocent life can be taken without thought or guilt.  Who stands up for these innocent lives that never had a choice?
No, it is our business.  We need to make it our business.  A three person family is destroyed every minute in this country at the hands of "Physicians" allowing a women to pursue their choice.  It is wrong now, it was wrong in the past, and it will be wrong in the future.  Life has really become meaningless to so many, that there is no longer a pang of guilt over the destruction of so many innocent babies.
So very sad, very sad.

3DHS / Re: HI MISS DE!!
« on: March 01, 2012, 11:11:54 PM »
My ears were burning so I thought I would check in.  Sure enough, my name was mentioned in a post with a long time friend.
I do miss some of the times from time back.  Sad thing, life is so busy that I have little time for debating.
One day, I will be retired and this will be a daily event for me, along with my turbo wheelchair and my partner in crime, ItsZep.   ;D

I have no doubt that the youth in Iran have been empowered by the demonstrations in Egypt.  They will be revolting in the streets soon.
Sad part is, the military will not be has friendly in Iran as they were in Egypt.  Those people will be slaughtered.
We are so fortunate in this country.  We have freedoms that allow us to speak and protest at will.  We are slowly losing them.
I am teaching a class on Sunday mornings and we discussed this subject today.  I asked the question to the group of how grounded are they if they were under persecution?  Would they still stand for their beliefs with the fear of being killed?
My belief is this.  The Titanic sank due to cheap rivets.  We are only as strong as the "rivets" of our soul.  Those people in Egypt has very strong "rivets".

Does this really surprise anyone?  I never thought for a second that the unions that faught to get Obama in along with his healthcare had any thoughts of being part of the group.  I believe they knew going in that they would be given the excemption.

I agree that we should not be handing out benefits to illegal immigrants.  But there are times that it really hits home that there are many who are very hurt by these laws.
Here is a situation that I just came across.
One of my Cystic Fibrosis patients is a US citizen, because of his birth.  His parents are not.  His father is a hard worker and a wonderful provider.  He is now sitting in jail, awaiting deportation.  His son, with CF, has a life expectancy of 15 years of age in Mexico.
He is now 10.
This is a very sad situation.  The parents will now have to make some very difficult decisions.

It is a start, though it should have been done in the first place.  As a Conservative, I expect my elected officials to do the will of the people.  To cut the costs of spending, live within their budget, and make tough decisions.
I would love to see term limits.  Doubt any of these people would ever vote that in.  Also a balanced budget amendment.
I would truly believe in our officials again, if those two things happened.

I wonder how many lives that saved?  We need more Govenors like this one.

3DHS / Re: You know its bad when Dems ban audio/video from debates
« on: September 09, 2010, 08:29:30 PM »
Be it right or left, if you are requesting not to have media available, then you are a bit nervous of the outcome of the debate.
If one was so sure of their point of view and the decisions that they stand behind, then why not shout it out with all that you have?
That is the true purpose of why their is a ban on the audio/video of some who are debating.  And for the record, I have no doubt that the Repubs would do the same if in the same shoes.  As of late, I see very little difference between most.
When you look at spending, it did not happen alone.  When you look at pork, the right are guilty as well.  In fact, I find them far more guilty.  They were elected to be a leaner working government, not an open check book.

Can you imagine?  White sandy beaches, margaritas, 5 star hotels.  Wow, another place for rich people to spend their money!

3DHS / Re: Burning the Flag
« on: September 09, 2010, 08:19:18 PM »
My little take on the matter.  If it is acceptable to burn bibles, flags, then why not Quarans?
With that said, common sense and a bit of intelligence would suggest that doing so puts you in the same league as those who do those horrible acts.  They are no better.
From an ethical point of view, burning someone's sacred book is wrong, just not illegal.

Umm, in Portland you have to have a permit to put the gaskget between the toilet and the floor, meaning, you cannot change out a toilet without a permit.
You technically have to get permission and a permit to plant a tree in your yard as well.  Few do, but they can fine you for it.
The Pacific NW is full of nets that run the government offices.  But then again, Portland is nearly as liberal as San Francisco.

« on: August 04, 2010, 04:35:30 AM »
I have to admit, I am leaning more towards libertarian all the time.  I absolutely love what the Tea Movement is doing.
I am not happy with the Republicans and hope that a strong leader steps forward.  I am thinking that come Spring, we will see some true leaders step up.  Right now, it is getting change in Nov.
I am backing the newbies all the way.  There are some exciting people running, many backed by Tea.
I have been for term limits, but now I beg for them.

I just can't help but chuckle when Obama etal say that the Republicans are doing nothing, they are the party of nothing.  Last I heard, Democrats were the majority in all three branches.
I also know that the majority of their ideas are shut down before they even hit the floor.
I think a bit of honesty goes a long ways here.

No, if you collect SSI, you pay SSI.  That I agree.  But there are some government jobs that pay nearly min. wage.  I would rather see people making 25k or less, not to be taxed (other than SSI), then to give them huge welfare checks once every year because they are poor.
I have known many people who received 2-5K in earned income, and what do they do?  Ex: go to Disneyland.  No job, unemployed, bills outstanding, two kids, car falling apart, and they earned, Disneyland.  This is one example of poor managment of tax dollars.
Give them a bit more on each paycheck, but not a welfare check.
Also, if you receive monthly checks, you do monthly volunteer work for the city or government.  (if physically able)
I guarantee you that will end many welfare abuses..

XO, Have you been taking a nap over the past few years?  Let me catch you up, ok.
