The primary point to me is that this "war" is sooooo unpopular that if they stopped allowing foreigners, they wouldn't be able to keep their bullshit invasion afloat.
That conflicts with published reports of the army and marines reaching recruitment and retention quotas for this year. I don't think they are having that much of a problem. Remember it is not only the war mongering GOP asking for more troops, it is folks like Clinton and Kerry who are calling for 80 to 100k more troops.
And as i said the average joe is quite content to let the other guy do the heavy lifting as they sit on their couch munching popcorn and demanding free health care.
