There are a large number of Libyans in Europe. Some left for better opportunities, others becaise of repression, but when Qadaffi goes, many will return, and will have a big influence on what happens after Qaddaffi is gone. Qadaffi was not a fundamentalist nor precisely a secularist. His Green Book was a muddle of Italian Fascism and Islamic laws and customs. He held no official position, so it seems rather odd of him to claim that he will never give up.

Eventually Saudi Arabia will either become a constitutional monarchy or they will simply evict the Saud family. I don't think that the present regime will last all that much longer. They won't withhold oil because they need the money, and they cannot hike the price too much or new fields and sources of energy will be developed  to lower the price.

This isn't happening on ANYONE's watch. It is not the job or the duty of the US president or anyone else to dictate who runs other countries. It seems to me that the Administration is handling this quite capably. Obama is following the advice of the experts in the State Dept and the military, and they seem to know what is going on and how to avoid the US getting blamed for problems. I really doubt that A Qaeda has mich influence in Libya: that is simply something Qadaffi seems to use to generate sympathy for his plight. He is pretty much doomed at this point. He has annoyed almost everyone over the past 40 years. Perhaps he will seek refuge in Zimbabwe or some minor African country (Guinea-Bissau, Niger, Burkina Fasso).

just to be cautious (the antibiotic against stomach bacteria).

Interesting Henny....I was not aware of "Flagyll".
May have to grab me some of that next time I go out country.
