Very interesting! I had never heard of this air rifle, or any air rifles of that period.
The Mexican War, the entire Civil War were fought with mostly one-shot rifles. One has to ask why.
How did they pump this thing up?
All I recall about air rifles was that you could put an eye out with one of those things.
