Stupid hackers
« on: August 20, 2011, 12:39:26 PM »
My task manager got disabled and some creepy sound ad is played in the background not on any of my media programs. I finally got everything working with system restore. but I scare it's temporary. Anyone know of a better way to deal with this?

load and run the free versions of AVG, Avira or Avast.

You could also try antimalwarebites.

The ONE THING not to do is to buy a program that automatically comes on your screen and tells you you have a virus and will do a "free scan". These are all malware programs, and giving them money (they say) gets your name on a sucker's list for future attacks.

I have never paid money for any such program/
