Israel readies "secret weapon" for Iran attack

Israel sees Iranian nuclear weapons as an existential threat, and plans are in place to carry out strikes to cripple the nuclear program by the middle of next month. Middle East expert Mike Evans says his discussions with top Israeli officials this week suggest there is a strong likelihood the attacks will take place between Sept. 15 and Oct. 15.

Evans estimates a 75 percent chance that strikes will be carried out in that 30-day window. Evans says high-ranking Israeli leaders also tell him they have a secret weapon they intend to deploy for any strikes, but they would not tell Evans what that weapon is. He believes the likely weapon is an electromagnetic pulse (EMP), which would cripple Iran's power grid.

"Israel is trying to get a hard promise from the U.S. that they'll support an attack," Evans told WND.

Evans says he's not surprised that the Obama administration is telling Israel and Iran that the U.S. will not back any Israeli attacks. He also reports that CIA Director David Petraeus and other American officials are strongly pressuring Israeli leaders to hold off on attacks before the U.S. elections. Evans explains what sort of ironclad promises from President Obama could convince Israel to stand down temporarily.

WND Senior Staff Reporter Jerome Corsi reported in 2009 on a "secret weapon" being developed and tested by Israel.

The test was done at an undisclosed Israeli military base, but few details were uncovered at the time. It was confirmed that the military specifically designed the secret weapon to be used in a possible conflict with Iran.

An attack as described would almost certainly convince Iran that having nukes is essential to their defense.

Iran has 77 million people. No way Israel can take on Iran and win any sort of permanent victory, or even one that would last 5 years.

An electromagnetic pulse (EMP), which would cripple Iran's power grid would most certainly leave Iran in a state of concentrating on much bigger problems that trying to build nuclear bombs.

And if Iran didn't learn their lesson from the first EMP attack, then it could simply be done again and again and again as needed....until they learn quite clearly....that they will not under any circumstances ever be allowed to have nuclear bombs.

The sooner they come to that conclusion....Iran and the world will be safer place.

I doubt the wepon of choice is an EMP device.

Being warned of an EMP attack weeks in advance , there is a lot that Iranian electricians can do to harden and disconnect to cope with the emp effect.

In Entebbe the secret wepon was tight security and a car that looked a lot like Idi Admins car.

So if there is a secret wepon , it by definition is not being spoken of.

I would be surprised if Isreal did not have some unusual force multiplier, but I would not expect this to be casually leaked .

Maybe leaking about EMP can encourage Iraniaians to waste expense, time and effort on hardening against EMP when that isn't really what they need to be doing.

Unless leaking about EMP wepons is intended to be such  an obvious decoy that they look for some other thing when they should be spending expense, time and effort on hardening against EMP ?
