just stating presently the talent base is not at sufficient levels . but as you say it`s only temporary. now the real question is does texas have the local qualities to attract creative people ? all the bad qualities we all harp about california are also what attracts talented people. I`ve known highly intelligent talented people work multiple jobs and live very minimul conditions in san francisco simply because the lifestyle is quite abit less restrictive.

Could you define "less restrictive", as it compares to Texas?

I`m asking does texas has qualities that attracts outside talents to move to thier. I can`t compare since i don`t know what texas has.

I`ll throw examples like is it LGTB friendly. meaning is it friendly to gays. I think awhile back apple almost had a facility there but cancelled because of this issue. but that was decades ago. has it changed ?

So, "restrictive" really isn't the word you're looking for...more so "inclusive".  Because when you compare State Governments, it's a safe bet that CA is far more restrictive, to not just businesses, but individuals as well.  But, yea, they're probably more "inclusive" while at the same time, being less tolerant of opposing positions

true inclusive is the word.

business wise I`ll always admit ca. is highly restrictive but I`m leaning toward the topic of the talent pool . is texas attractive to the type of people that can sustain a tech community?

you mention texas instrument and  i have no idea how well that company is doing nowadays ,in fact i haven`t heard that name in over a decade.

took a quick look and strangely TI actually trains new hires to be able to work in the job market. pretty strange for a tech company.

People will go where the money is. If the company relocates, moving with the company beats losing seniority and being unemployed. Texas ranks below California for American born citizens in nearly every field. Companies move to avoid paying taxes, and those taxes generally make a state a better place to live.

If Toyota moves tom Texas, it is a clear sign that they know that all the crap about Texas seceding is utter nonsense.
