    Know what a gormless is?

funny that my spellcheck doesn't like it , but suggests gormlessly instead.

reminds when I worked with lady from london who asked ( in a annoyed tone) what is trash. I explained it`s our word for rubbish or garbage. she then said why don`t I use the word rubbish or garbage and I reply i don`t because it`s trash. every once inawhile she would say"speak english" i always reply" I am". the only reason she putup with me is I`m the only one in the firm who understand british english. being a canuck has it`s advantages

To me, garbage is organic stuff prone to rot and stink like banana peels, cantaloupe rinds, meat trimmings and bones. Trash is stuff like paper and wrappings, old newspapers, inorganic unwanted stuff. Rubbish can be either, but is most often used for stupid ideas.
