No, they're not, and never have. They claim, rightly so, that they have just as much a right to a firearm as they do free speech, and privacy. Try to remember that humans only have 2 hands. Some only 1, and a small% who have none. Whether a person has 1 or 20 guns, they can only use 1 at a time...unless they want to be really inaccurate
