Vaccine map

Interactive map showing Vaccine preventable disease, and attacks on vaccination teams in recent years.

I note that there is not an attack listed in London, where one of the most credible attacks on vaccination took place.

Cristie and Rand Paul should keep their yaps shut. Vaccination is an absolute necessity if we are to end measles and other diseases. Paul said that there have been cases where a vaccinated child has serious mental problems. But he did not give any details, and the press does not seem to have found any, either. The solution is to deny admittance to school of any child that has not been vaccinated or who has proof that he cannot be vaccinated. One infected child is a threat to all.

I recall when I had the measles, I was miserable for three weeks of fevers, coughing fits and itching. There were no vaccines then.

Unless the Republicans want to be known as the "Measles Party" they need to declare that vaccinations are a necessity. The vaccinations do not cause autism, they do not cause mental problems. Jenny McCarthy is a total fool.

Attacks?

Yes , vaccine providers and remote vaccination teams have been killed and threatened, these are the red triangles on the map.

The map is interactive, so you can view each category by itself.

I think there is a mistake made in that it lists no attacks in Europe or the Americas where attacks on the credibility of vaccines have had a big effect on the motivation of parents and politicians.

Rand Paul has not said one word about all the bad things that he suggests might be caused by vaccines.

He made a point of arranging a photo opportunity of him getting a shot.

Using vaccinations in Pakistan to locate Bin Laden was pretty unwise, as it caused a lot of Pakistanis to mistrust all NGOs providing vaccination.  It is not to anyone's advantage that there be epidemics of polio, measles and other contagious diseases in Pakistan or anywhere else.

One serious epidemic of polio or measles could kill a lot more people than Bin Laden, and would cost far more to bring under control.
