    If you wanted every pencil in the world to get busy drawing representations of the prophet, what better means have you than this?

I don't see any reason to draw Muhammad other than to piss off fanatics.

I don't question that everyone has the right to draw Muhammad, but I fail to see what is accomplished by doing so?

What would be the criteria for the beast cartoon?  Muhammad, like Jesus, died without a single photo being taken, so they could not judge the drawing for accuracy.
Even fruit in a bowl is a more artistic subject than a guy with a beard, so beauty is probably not a factor, either.
I suppose it might be the funniest, or perhaps the most inflammatory.

It would be interesting to see the entries.

One could measure the temperature of Muslims viewing the cartoon.

This contest seems rather stupid.  There is nothing artistic about a cartoon of Mohammad, nor does ridiculing a dead guy to piss off his followers make much sense.

It was far more stupid to attempt to kill people participating in this than it was to enter or put on this event, though.
