The Philippines are attractive enough for an expat to return to.


I would like to know what the trend lines are for the number of people coming here for a job or for education then returning to their homeland.

I think a lot of those homelands are getting more attractive all the time.

A Filipino 'S citizen can live very, very well on  maybe $3000 a month in the bigger cities of the Philippines. Mexicans, Dominicans, Poles an Italians also can do quite well living on SS there.

I met a lot of Philippine citizens while I was in the Navy, some of them wanted to become American citizens and some didn't.

As a rule they were smart, competent and promotable, after a Navy career they could indeed return to their hometowns for a comfortable retirement. 


This was a good deal for them , but also a good deal for the Navy, as I mentioned already, they tended to be smart , competent ,and promotable.
