The United States Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms does not classify spud guns as firearms when they are used appropriately -- that is recreationally, and without intent to harm people or damage property. However, firing a spud gun is illegal in most cities, and some states have outlawed them. Other countries have their own regulations regarding spud gun ownership and use.

Do we outlaw them here, Plane? Should we? Should we only outlaw them when you fire certain types of projectiles?

No , it would quicly become rediculous to forbid everything that could be dangerous .

A screwdriver is not usually ileagal ,but if you try to stick it into someone , then it is asault with a deadly weapon.


I built one of these when I was in the Navy , we were ok till the forth of July when we started fireing lightsticks straight up, our lookout mistook them for distress flares and reveresed ships course twice .
