Dropping out in the middle of the fighting would seem like a masterstroke on the part of G. Bush 41 if the outcome had been the successfull uprieing he had encouraged .

As it is the side that we whipped felt angry with us , and the sde we allowed to be whipped feel betrayed, the worst of both is what was risked and the dice came up snake eyes.

A simular decision can be made in the near future, have we learned anything that helps us understand when to relinquish control ?
