Well, Sirs, that depends......is Pluto still a "rock" out in space even though it has lost a place at the round table?

Pluto was put into the new category of "dwarf planet."

>>Pluto was put into the new category of "dwarf planet."<<

Of which there are apparently thousands.

Anybody else make "garbage" soup?

No; only three: Pluto, Eris, and Ceres.

I watching something on the discovery channel the other day that said there is a ring of "dwarf" planets of which Pluto is just one of possibly thousands.

Then they are wrong. This Wikipedia article is fairly accurate:

Garbage soup is a West Virginia tradition. You take all the left overs in your frig and throw them in a pot. Generally you add some tomatoes and tomatoe sauce. I always add a little hot sauce for taste to my own bowl.

Hey....my mama is from West "by God" Virginia.....that sounds like "tradition to me" ....ha!

Now, on the other hand, I am born and raised in New Mexico.
Southwest cuisine/soup is only alive with GREEN CHILI.
I know NO OTHER....want a recipe?

My wife was born there. Yes, it's a kind of tradition, and a damn tasty one too.

There are lots of people originally from West Virgina in Ohio. See, every first born son of West Virgina gets a dollar on his birthday until he's 21. Coincidently, it's $21 for a bus ticket to Ohio.

 ;)

Dad from PA. Mom from WV. Grew up visiting both states every summer of my childhood. Picking blackberries in WV, listening to the fiddle players and the hillbilly nature.....quiet part of my past. Johnstown PA.....loved the summers in the railroad town....the smell of coal. The memories of playing in the backyard sandbox with a hint of black sand....wow! priceless.

My life.....a rat- brat from the NM desert...southwestern all the way.
Never understood the east coast. Funny how upbringing is one reality and heritage is another totally different....fun to make connections and quite enlightening.
Gotta love the southwestern state of New Mexico. Artist(my mother) and bomb makers(my father) go figure.

As for the soup....we would add green chili to any mix.
