Huckabee and the Republican Party
« on: January 04, 2008, 09:36:19 AM »
Wow, reading the Daily Kos commentary, looks like Huckabee may actually be the GOOD guy in the Republican Party, relatively speaking of course.  According to some of the posters, the Huckster is way too liberal economically for the selfish skinflints to put up with and now the knives are really going to be out.  Theory seems to be, evangelical Christians are good for getting out their zombie hordes at election time and little else.  Having elected a Republican President, they are then expected to crawl back under their rocks and let the REAL leaders of the GOP get on with the task of turning taxpayer's dollars and soldier's blood into private fortunes.  And nobody, especially Huckabee, is going to be allowed to get in the way of that.  They posted an open letter from Richard Viguerie which makes this all crystal clear that the exorcism is about to begin.

I read some posts from the  that are all despondent about this. It's really funny.   It's like they never ever (ever!) knew that fundamentalists were, like, a powerful voting block.
Yeah, they're supposed to be like locusts.  Come up and vote, go  back down and shut up for the next few years. Breed. That's it.

This is such a hoot.
He says, "This is identity politics of a type you don't often see on the Republican side."
What!?  He must not have been paying attention.  You don't often NOT see it on the Republican side.

The oligarchy will be very wary of a preacher with an economic agenda. People who have no principles are vastly preferably to the oligarchs.

Yes, the current standard-bearer of the Republican party has something for everyone - the war-mongers, the bible-thumpers, and now, even the socialists.
