Great technique, though. Find a house, blow it to shit and claim you are killing al Qaedas. The only problem is "searching" for "DNA" in the ruins, to "prove" you got the bad guy. Tough call - - do you "find" the "DNA" and justify the strike, or not "find" it, to justify future strikes on future unfortunate houses and their sleeping Third World occupants? After all, in the long run, how many "top" al Qaeda leaders are there to kill?
To give a little context here, the U.S. arranged for a proxy Ethiopian army to invade Somalia, overthrow its legitimate de facto government and install a puppet pro-U.S. government in its place. Incredibly, there were some Somalis who resented this outside interference in their national affairs and decided to resist violently. The U.S., having had a taste of Somali warfare in the Black Hawk Down incident, wisely if somewhat cowardly, decided to pay others to do its dirty work for them, and ventured forth from their positions of safety only by launching drones or other no-risk aerial attacks, on their usual victims of choice, defenceless Third World peasants. You can expect to hear a lot of claims of "victory" in this ugly, dirty little war, bought and paid for by the usual suspects, but you can also expect that the Somali people, at a horrific cost, will finally succeed in driving out the invaders and re-establishing the type of mediaeval government that they feel comfortable with - - the Islamic Courts movement. Not to our Western tastes no doubt, but sure as hell to their mediaeval tastes.
