Oh get serious Fatman, no one is claiming republicans aren't able to pull such garbage.  My point being, and you helped highlight it, Craig was wall to wall media coverage.

I am serious sirs.  While Craig was wall to wall coverage, so was Spitzer.  I see no media bias here, but that's my perception and it's entirely possible that my perception is faulty.  The funny thing with Craig was, how long was it after the incident that it came to light?  Not only that, but the newspaper that broke the story (either the Spokane newspaper or the Idaho affiliate, I can't remember off the top of my head) isn't exactly a bastion of the left like the New York Times.  Are you saying that the newspaper that outed the story had a bias against Republicans and for Democrats?  It would seem to me that a bias like that would be economically fatal to that newspaper in Eastern Washington or Idaho.

What I do see are Republicans saying "Well, the Democrats do it so we should too", and for a party that likes to play the moral high ground

"Well, the Democrats do it so we should too",

Do what?

In the case of Bill Clinton egregious behavior was tolerated for the "good" of the party. But that was not good , neither party should be tolerant to that extent .

Do what?

Whatever it is that they're trying to justify.

And I would not say that Plane.  As far as Clinton goes, he should have been removed for perjury.  And in a nod to sirs here, I'm not trying to say that this is problem only relates to Republicans.

But to the justification/rationalization thing again, are there not statements by Republicans in this very forum that because Bush was blasted for going to Bob Jones that Obama should be blasted for Wright?  And I've seen it turned around the other way:  The Republicans who were so dead set against NATO military action in Bosnia under Clinton are the same ones that urged war in Iraq under the UN and now with Iran.  These are NOT necessarily my opinions, but opinions that I've seen.

The one thing that I liked about the Republican party, and the reason that I identified myself as a (moderate) Republican, was because when it came to holding the moral high ground, they usually had it.  It seems to me, and this may only be a matter of my perception (on which I am thinking of preparing another post on), is that the moral high ground that they held is eroding.

Not even close.  Yea, spitzer got some coverage, and what he did compared to Craig was FAR FAR greater, yet largely was similar in media coverage.  I can't grasp this desire you have to not acknowledge what's patently obvious.  GOP coverage of scandals by the MSM gets FAR more intensity, scrutiny, and duration, than similar Democrat Scandals.  What you decide not to see, is your decision I guess

WHAT??  Who the hell's is saying or even implying that???

Is the opposite concept , what is forbidden to us should also be forbidden to them.

Well, I don't know how to prevent people like this from getting in office.  But once we find out about them, they need to get gone either on their own or get impeached and out of there.

I've never been a Republican. I'm a law-abiding citizen. ;)
I kid, I kid!
Honestly, I don't like corruption no matter what party, social status, whatever.

Such corruption is a good thing to supress , reduce and discourage , controlling it to the mximum practicical extent.

But as long as we are useing human beings as our leaders we will not eliminate it.

This is what I like about the two party system , there is always someone motivated to dig up and expose the corruption, the corrupt need to feel the fear.
