<<I am not surprised that you would not have heard about Saddams Uranium stash , there was no way to make President Bush look bad with it ,so the MSM was not very interested.>>

It still makes the "President" out to be a liar.  He said Iraq possessed WMD and wants us to believe that yellowcake is a WMD?  Bullshit.

Yellocake is for what?

There are only three uses I know of,
 Ceramics , fuel and explosive.

A few Oz. is enough for a lot of ceramic.
It has to be refined for fuel , and refined much more for explosive.

Why was Saddam keeping so much practicly useless but highly valuable stuff laying in a warehouse?

<<Why was Saddam keeping so much practicly useless but highly valuable stuff laying in a warehouse?>>

Saddam undoubtedly wanted Iraq and the Ba'ath Arab Socialist Party to play a much bigger role in the region, preferably nuclear armed, and believed that the yellowcake would come in handy one day when Iraq would be allowed to do so.  There's no question in my mind that Saddam believed that as a sovereign state, Iraq had every right in the world to develop nuclear weapons, same as the U.S.A., China, Israel and a few others.

I think Saddam recognized that for a variety of reasons, some legitimate and due to his own conduct, and others illegitimate and meant only to accommodate Israel's and America's drive for hegemony in the region, Iraq was at least temporarily in the dog-house and would not be permitted to process the yellowcake at that time.  However, he had the wisdom to understand that such conditions are never permanent and that one day he'd either be let out of the dog-house or bust out by his own power.  A good politician knows that situations are fluid, not static, and he was holding the yellowcake against the day when the current would sweep him and his country into a more favourable position.

That is exactly in line with my thinking ,we must disagree on something ?

It can't be easy to get rid of unwanted yellowcake.

Let us suppose that you bought some to make pottery with, but a while later you heard that a fellow potter used it for some teacups, and his tallywhacker fell off. So you, wishing to avoid having your own personal tallywhacker fall off, keep it in the garage under the snow tires for the Studebaker pickup you once owned.

Now everyone is suspicious of anyone selling or buying yellowcake. So you just keep it where it is, because that is the easiest thing to do, and you won;t have to worry about it until you need snow tires for a Studebaker pickup truck.

The French would have bought it.
If sold to France it would be converted to money, which Saddam had no need of.

Iraqi people who were not Saddam probly could have used some money , but Saddam had plenty.

=====================================
Please. Saddam had money, so he didn't want more?

Exxon-Mobil has money, and strangely, it wants more.

The dictators of Burma also have lots of money, and SURPRISE! they want more, too.

You might make a good case for money being addictive: the more one has, the more one wants.

If Saddam had sold this, his neighbors would have found out and known that he no longer had it, which would mean that he was no longer so potentially dangerous. So he kept it.

Dang ,...

Again I agree with you , Saddam did what he could to make his threat of Nuclear strength seem plausable to the outside world.
