Has to be, right?  Because right after the election, if Oblather gets elected, they'll skyrocket up, right??       ::)

And, of course, when you show that it goes through the same cycle on non-election years, it's manipulated in those years to cover up the manipulation in the other years...

The ups have been far higher than before, and the price is still a lot higher than the old lows. Supply and demand are manipulated, as is the price.

The same is true of any other commodity.

It MIGHT be the same as other commodities that depend on transportation and/or other oil-related costs.

Th oil companies are not innocent victims or circumstance. They have overthrown governments, they have deliberately wrecked economies, they have bribed, lobbied and bought and sold politicians like no other industry. There are very few commodities that are so easily manipulated as oil in so many different ways.

Oh come on. Cheney is behind this and you know it. It's all about getting McCain elected.

Something like that ...

What is with you turkeys? Does anyone seriously believe that the oil companies have been given special treatent by the Juniorbushies, and have done everything they can to maximize profits? The current price is probably still a bit over what the actual cost of gasoline really is, plus a handsome profit. That extra dollar we were paying was just sheer gravy for them.

The price is partly determined by supply and demand, but is also determined by speculation. And both are manipulated by Big Oil and their pals in OPEC for as much as they possibly can.

They stand to benefit by bazillions if McCain is elected. They have overthrown and manipulated elections all over the world. Are we to believe that they consider the US to be "special" and immune from their manipulations?
