A Suggestion for President Bush
« on: December 13, 2006, 04:37:22 PM »
I believe it is incumbent on the president to take the lead. Therefore, before he fashions his new Iraq policy in stone, he should consult with leading Democrats in a ceremonial-substantive meeting so to absorb and reflect the views of his harshest responsible critics. This would be a step toward "full integration of all relevant factors," which, if nothing else, could affect the popular reception his new idea will generate, which could influence the outcome of the whole endeavor. I would bring in the leadership, of course, and especially John Murtha.

I have to give Domer credit for his tenacity.

And Knute credit for his consistency.

I have NEVER been so insulted in all my life! I am NOT consistent, Libertarians are and everyone knows that foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds.

I am not sure the president knows how to take advice from men he perceives to be not 100% for him.  He seems to have trouble taking advice from the Bush 41 group, James Baker and those with him, and they are on Bush's side very much.  They seem to have an air of school principal about them, though, and he comes off as being resentful of their months of study and resulting advice.
So I don't know how he'd react to Murtha.
He has put off deciding what to do until January, or so I read.  Events may decide for him.

And it's amazing how their "conclusions" were identical to their prior views of the war.  Oh care to provide some evidentiary support of this 100% Bush support, no strings attached?   Or is this more of that wishful thinking, analogus to why Papa Bush was crying?

Oh, you mean the same tone that 98% of your thread titles and op-eds you post?  gotcha
