The Star Spangled Banner Lyrics
By Francis Scott Key 1814

Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner! Oh long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion,
A home and a country should leave us no more!
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

The main reason to have sporting events is to get some popular singer to screw up the National Anthem, isn't it?

Country Western types do seem to mess up less often, I have noticed. Next time, call Taylor Swift.

Christina Aguilera was born in New York City.

Ignorance, thy name is Kramer.

December 18, 1980 - New York, New York.
Christina Aguilera's Early Life:

Although she was born in New York, Christina Aguilera grew up in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area. Her father is of Ecuadoran descent and her mother is of European descent. Aguilera's parents divorced before she was 10, and Christina moved in with her grandmother. Christina Aguilera had a precocious talent for singing. She competed in the television show Star Search in 1990 at age 9. She did not win, but became somewhat of a local celebrity.
Quote from Christina Aguilera:

On self-reflection as a star from an interview with USA Weekend:

"Whenever you're forced to talk about yourself every day, you're forced to look at who you are and what you're about so you can repeat that to other people."
Member of the New Mickey Mouse Club:

In 1993 Christina Aguilera was hired as a member of the Disney Channel's New Mickey Mouse Club. Among her fellow Mousketeers were Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, and JC Chasez. The show ended in 1994, but it did provide national exposure. Christina Aguilera set about recording demos and submitting them in hope of a recording contract.
Teen Pop Star:

A significant opportunity came the way of Christina Aguilera in 1998 when she was hired to sing the song "Reflections" for the soundtrack to the animated movie Mulan. It was a minor hit that gained her a contract to record an album. "Genie in a Bottle," the first single from the album, went all the way to #1 on the pop singles chart in 1999. Her self-titled album also went to #1 and sold 8 million copies, buoyed by 2 more #1 hit songs.
"Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana."

I was kidding dipshit. Although deporting her back to NYC seems reasonable. Anyway, there are plenty of US Born Mexicans that seem to prefer their ancestral motherland over the good ole USofA. I guess that little known fact missed your observations.

Christina Aguilera is not even part Mexican: her mother is Ecuadorean, her father was from Europe.

Good then they can split her in two and ship both half's back to separate motherlands. She could be from Costa Rica for all I care.
