Another great film you probably have not seen: Vitus

Vitus is a Swiss child prodigy, the son of an English mother and an electronics inventor who uses his talents in unexpected ways. This film was the 2006 Swiss entry in the Best Foreign Film entry to the Oscars. Swiss films are pretty rare, but this one is really great. Well acted, a great screenplay, and not mawkish as films about kids tend to be when Disney makes them.

I also got "Inception" from Netflix. It has really terrific special effects that I still wonder out how they did, but the ploy a was bloody awful thing about attacking people in their dreams, their dreams within their dreams, and even dreams within dreams within dreams. Leonardo DiCaprio did as good a job as anyone could, but it is the sort of action film that I despise.

Lots of action, as I said. If you liked the Matrix films, you'd probably like it.

"The Matrix" made money , so I expect sequals or imitators to spring up till we are thouroughly tired of them.
The people in charge of Movie houses change from time to time, but all of them seem to want mmore of success and not so much of novelty.

The audience of course wants to see a ripping good story, so novelty isn't a bad idea,it just doesn't come with much assurance of success.

I think that the Matrix has been made for the last time in this generation. Matrix III was not a hit. It was also awful.

Once all the really big fans have seen a film and played the video game until exhaustion, that film is unlikely to be remade until their kids come of age.

Again, whether you like "Inception" or not, "Vitus" is a truly great flick. Made like a good Swiss watch: every part works, every part fits.

"Inception" is typically like American film at its most garish: no suggestion from the FX guys appears to have been disregarded. You will marvel at how bloody long it takes that stupid van to plummet off that bridge. See it and you will see what I mean.
