All That Glitters May Redefine Run By Gingrich

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/05/25/us/politics/25gingrich.html?_r=1&partner=rss&emc=rss

------------------------------

Below the fold in todays NYTs is a picture of Callista Gingrich, blond on blond on blond wife of Newt Gingrich,  wearing what appears to be a $45,000 strand of diamonds from Tiffany & Company. A few weeks ago Newt said that his extramarital affairs were connected to his love for America. Apparently for Mrs. Gingrich the marriage is connected to her love for diamonds.

>>Diamonds are forever
Hold one up and then caress it
Touch it, stroke it and undress it
I can see every part, nothing hides in the heart to hurt me

I don't need love
For what good will love do me?
Diamonds never lie to me
For when love's gone they'll luster on

Diamonds are forever
Sparkling round my little finger
Unlike men, the diamonds linger
Men are mere mortals who are not worth going to your grave for

I don't need love
For what good will love do me?
Diamonds never lie to me
For when love's gone they'll luster on<<

Written by Callista Gingrich for Shirley Bassey

Diamonds are a Newt's wife's best friend.

After diddling around, it looks like the Newtster is the one being diddled.

Serve him right. Could not happen to a more appropriate fellow.

diamonds are a funny thing. it`s expensive out of purely marketing reasons.

I hear women say "i don`t care how many people die or get enslaved I`d got no problem taking a conflict diamond"
Which gotta be true since I`ve never heard of their value going down . I wonder if newt`s wife pick diamonds or cash?

News flash!

The price of diamonds DOES go down, and dramatically.

You can prove that this is so.

(1) Buy a diamond. Note the price and the grade. (Diamonds are graded A through M, based on sparkle, color, flaws and other qualities)

(2) Take that diamond to anyone who buys diamonds. The odds vastly in favor of the price offered being drastically lower, and the grade being lower as well.

If you have millions, MAYBE, of you are REALLY SMART AND EXPERIENCED, you could make money buying and selling diamonds. But if not, diamonds, like almost all jewelry is a crappy investment.

It is, however true that Calista Gingrich's diamonds are worth more than nothing, and when Newt has passed on to another lover or merely just passed on, they will be worth more than the nothing she had before he gave them to her.

It would be crass for her to ask the Newtster for cash, or stock in Apple or Citrix.

FREE jewelry is an excellent investment vehicle for anyone.

does the high grade diamonds value stay the same or lose value slightly. I very much doubt it goes up. When I mention diamond tend to lose value quickly I normally hear in defense their is of some high grade.

of course taking anything free is worth taking. I didn`t factor cash as crass. but i believe newt offering apple stock would  of  gotten him out of this situation.

word of advice
diamonds not the best gift . in the guy world it has extremely no reciprocal value. meaning she`ll take the 50k diamond and give nothing in return. it`s amazing diamonds are still used as gifts today

kobe bryant learned that the hard way

Diamonds are a crappy investment for anyone who does not understand the diamond business. If a woman were to invest in diamonds it would be crappy as well, because the wholesale diamond business is a guy thing for specialists only. But of the diamonds are free, then it is not crappy at all. I know of no  rich women who used diamonds to rise to the top of any business, although perhaps there have been some. Rich women, of course, and unlikely to reveal that they got rich by golddigging, especially if they did.

Cut and unset diamonds of 2 and more carats, grades A B and C are generally regarded as "investment grade", small enough to smuggle out of any country in one's butt. Of course, one would use a container of bamboo, gutta percha or something else organic, as metal would be embarrassingly detectable. The anal capsule, described in the novel Papillion, was called a "plan", and rolled up, large denomination paper money was generally used to smuggle money in to Devil's Island Penal Colony, or so he says.

Papillon and excellent film with Dustin Hoffman and Steve McQueen. But the novel is better still. More detail.

If this were easy to do, drug runners would do it all the time. Who knows? Perhaps some do. They only catch the ones that are easiest to catch.
