There aren't many apps that I could live without that aren't already on the phone but I frequently use:

Yahoo mail
Gmail
Amazon
Advanced Task Killer
Pandora
Flixster Movies
Opera Mini
Shush
Shazam
Yelp
Antivirus

Barcode Scanner for sure.

I have two custom home screens - LauncherPro (use for "normal" usage) and CarHome Ultra (use when I'm in the car).

Vlingo for doing voice control of the phone, again useful in the car.
ICE for consolidating my emergency contacts and medical info, and allowing access to that info even when the rest of the phone is locked.
Dolphin Browser HD to replace the anemic one builtin.
Evernote to store notes / audio clips in the cloud and access them from anywhere else.
Keyring for consolidating all my store cards.
Handcent for messaging.
Tweetdeck for Twitter / Facebook.
Audible / Kindle / Nook / exPDF for books (use more on my tablet than my phone).
Amazon MP3 / Appstore for Amazon integration.
If you have your prescriptions at Walgreens, their app allows you to just scan the barcode on your prescription bottles to order refills automatically.
Gasbuddy / Groupon - helps save you some money.
Stitcher for podcasts.
Tunein Radio Pro so I can listen to any city's radio stations.
Soundhound to identify random songs and save them into a list for later review / purchase.

Playon - it's installed on my phone, but the screen is so small that I almost always just use it on my tablet - streams my media from my home computer to where ever I am. Requires a home computer with the Playon server software installed and the ability to route a port through your firewall. This also allows me to access Internet media, convert, and stream for use on my phone / tablet - cbs.com, nbc.com, abc.com, various other networks, youtube, Amazon, Netflix, etc.

PasswdSafe for generating / storing my passwords (works with the same data files used by software for other OSes, so your password info can be transported around encrypted to many other systems - I also have the "portable" Windows and Java Linux versions of the software on the SD card, so I can plug my phone in and have instant access to my passwords nearly anywhere). I also carry a USB cable with me to plug in the phone and also charge it.

BT....
one of my "must have" apps on my i-phone is www.Me.com
They probably have a similar app for a droid or will have soon.

This app allows you to precisely locate a lost or stolen phone
An it is unbelievably accurate
If your phone is missing...you simply log-in to Me.com
Put in your password...and boom the phone's location is shown

I misplaced my i-phone once while at work
I wasn't sure if i left it at home or a restaurant or it was at my office
Simple logged in to Me.com on my work desktop
and it showed me not only that it was at my office location
but what end of the building the phone was in.

I quickly located my phone where I had laid it down on a shelf in a closet.
I had also turned my ringer off...so this was a life saver in finding it quickly.

One time I got home and couldn't find my i-phone...looked in my car...house ect...
"Hell...where is my freakin phone?!"
Got on Me.com & the phone showed that it was at Chili's where I had just eaten
Went down and picked it up....

My neice uses it to track her kids....
They tell Mommy they are at mall, with Me.com Mom can
get a better feel for where they really are by logging into Me.com.
Yes there are ways to beat the system....but unlikely.

I betcha some spouses may secretly throw a phone in their possible cheatin
spouses trunk then log-in to Me.com and see where their spouse really is....
"My HoneyBunny is really in Vegas, not at her Grandmother's farm?!"  >:(

Me.com is not a perfect tracking tool, but it is one great piece of a puzzle.
I love it...

Advanced Task Killer

Read FAQ: Why You Shouldn?t Be Using a Task Killer with Android

The Verizon rep loaded it up for me and said it would save on the battery. I will delete it and see if it makes any difference.
