It's not his library until it is built. Right now it appears that SMU is making sure it has clear title to whatever land it wants to use to host the library.

Are you trying to say that Bush has no influence whatsoever over the situation?

I don't think that it's EVER "his library".

But I seriously doubt that he has no influence over how or where, or even if, it is built.

I'm sure he has influence over where it is built. I doubt he has influence over how SMU gets its ducks in a row to secure the bid.

Brass seems to think there is some direct linkage to Bush in this scenario, and i'm doubting that.

Southern Methodist University is making an aggressive series of real estate buys around its University Park campus, moves that signal it may be acquiring more land to bolster its bid for the George W. Bush Presidential Library.

The college is one of four finalists for the highly sought-after project, along with Baylor University, the University of Dallas and a group led by Texas Tech University. Planners expect to raise $200 million to $350 million in private funds for the project.

BS.  Where did I ever state that Bush had "direct" control over the "scenario"?  I said he had influence over the situation.  And I'd bet dollars to donuts he does.

I'm pointing out to those who love Bush and profess to worship property rights that Bush is not observing those rights with any form of dignity.

It's for the Bush library.  He's involved.

Wonderfull ,are you paying off in dollars or doughnuts?

It seems clear that SMU dos not have a lock on their hopes to have the Bush Liabrary on their campus , so wy would President Bush have directed SMU toconfiscate some land?
