Peyton Manning to Become a Patriot
« on: March 07, 2012, 11:22:53 PM »
The New England Patriots and Payton Manning have reached a contractual agreement. The numbers have yet to be released but he will be with New England through the 2015 season. His job will primarily exist of chauffeuring Tom Brady to and from Gillette Stadium, and keeping coach Belichick's hoodies washed and folded.

Peyton said, "At last I feel like I've made it."

Strange how there's nothing.....not even a hint of such an "agreement", much less actual correspondence between the 2 entities at NFL.com.  What's up with that??    :o

Nothing at NFL.com about Petyon Manning becoming Tom Brady's chauffeur? Gee, that's strange.

Sirs, if you really looked that up, you need to check yourself into a mental health facility.

And BTW see-u-4, the NFL never accused the Patriots of cheating.

Considering the "authenticity/validity" of what's posted, I suggest you better consider what you post, if you wish to be taken seriously, or at minimum, credibly

That's rich.

Sirs, I hate to be the one to break the news but you either have an IQ of about 60, or you're a serious head case. If it's the former, I'm sorry, if it's the latter, get help.

the NFL never accused the Patriots of cheating.

Belichick draws $500,000 fine, but avoids suspension

September 14, 2007

NEW YORK -- New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick was fined the NFL maximum of $500,000 Thursday and the Patriots were ordered to pay $250,000 for spying on an opponent's defensive signals.

Commissioner Roger Goodell also ordered the team to give up its first-round draft choice next year if it reaches the playoffs this season, or its second- and third-round picks if it misses the postseason.

"This episode represents a calculated and deliberate attempt to avoid long-standing rules designed to encourage fair play and promote honest competition on the playing field," Goodell said in a letter to the Patriots.

The videotaping came to light after a camera was confiscated from Patriots video assistant Matt Estrella while he was on the New York Jets' sideline during New England's 38-14 win last Sunday at Giants Stadium. Goodell will not change the outcome of the game.

Goodell said he had considered suspending Belichick but didn't "largely because I believe that the discipline I am imposing of a maximum fine and forfeiture of a first-round draft choice, or multiple draft choices, is in fact more significant and long-lasting, and therefore more effective, than a suspension."

Bill Belichick and his team deserved a much stiffer penalty than the fines and loss of picks they got for spying on the Jets.

Instead, Goodell imposed the biggest fine ever on a coach -- it represents 12 percent of Belichick's scheduled 2007 salary, which is believed to be $4.2 million -- and took away a first-round draft pick as a penalty for the first time in NFL history.

Reached at his home, Patriots owner Robert Kraft declined to comment.

Belichick, however, accepted full responsibility "for the actions that led to tonight's ruling. Once again, I apologize to the Kraft family and every person directly or indirectly associated with the New England Patriots for the embarrassment, distraction and penalty my mistake caused."

"I also apologize to Patriots fans and would like to thank them for their support during the past few days and throughout my career," Belichick said in a statement issued by the team. "As the commissioner acknowledged, our use of sideline video had no impact on the outcome of last week's game. We have never used sideline video to obtain a competitive advantage while the game was in progress."

The Patriots have been caught once before. Last November, during their 35-0 victory in Green Bay, the Packers caught Estrella shooting unauthorized video and told him to stop.

The Patriots were never accused of cheating. They were accused of videotaping from the sideline. That's against NFL rules. You can videotape from all sorts of places in the stadium, but not from the sideline.

The funniest part of that whole thing was people who actually believed that the Patriots would videotape during the first half than go in and diagnose the tape than come out and know what was being called. Anyone who thinks that's what the Patriots were doing is an embarrassment to the game of football.

When the Patriots released Randy Moss, and he went to Green Bay, the Patriots had to play against him a couple of weeks later. A few days before the game Brady said, do you think were going to use the same signals to our receivers we used when Randy was here?

Does anyone think that NFL coaches use the same signals for the same plays in the second half they used in the first?

I understand though see you 4. The Cowboys suck. What else can you say when the Patriots have been to 5 of the last 11 Super Bowls. All the loser fans of all the loser teams have to say, they must be cheating.

The Patriots were cheating & thats why NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell
hit the Patriots with huge fines and a loss of draft choices. You can pretend
it was no big deal but the NFL Commissioner certainly did think it was.

The Cowboys trophy case speaks for itself.

The Patriots have not been to as many Super Bowls as the Cowboys.
The Patriots have not won as many Super Bowls as the Cowboys. (not even close)
The Patriots have more losses in Super Bowls than the Cowboys.
And the Dallas Cowboys didn't win their SB trophies by cheating!

No one has one shred of evidence that the Patriots cheated. They broke the rule of having a camera on the sideline, but cheating? Not one bit of evidence.

Its been 20 years since the Cowboys won shit. They suck. Further, any team that would put up with TO had a jackass for an owner, and a fool for a coach.

Sematic games aside...the Patriots cheated.
they got caught.
The Patriots were fined heavily & lost draft choices as punishment.
This was a very serious matter.
It was a disgrace and reflected poorly on the game.

As far as the Cowboys....it has been awhile.
They'll be back....still one of the most exciting
and popular teams in all of sports.

Love him or hate him Jerry Jones is one of the best owners
in football. His botton line of trophies and stadium proves it.
Reality is what it is.
When everybody is laid to rest how many human beings in history
can claim they were the owner of a team that won 3 Super Bowls?
Not many.....a few....but again not many....he is in an elite class.
And I don't think he's through....
yeah he can be a jerk...but no owner is more passionate.

But to be honest I dont care much anymore,
I enjoy watching college football much more.
I attend about 8 college games a year
maybe one Cowboy game every 2-3 years
I still root for the Cowboys, but it's just not as important.
The game, the players, the attitudes have changed.

So to borrow a quote from Barry Switzer
"does it really matter if the guy pumping gas thinks
I suck after I've won 3 National Championships,
8 Bowl Games, 12 Conference Titles, a Super Bowl,
and two Coach of Year Awards?...I mean who cares?"

So yeah BSB.....does it really matter to me what you
think of the Dallas Cowboys - America's Team?

Nooo Not Much.

You're talking out of your ass. Not one team who lost to the Patriots in a Super Bowl ever accused them of cheating to win. Further, the Cowboys have been in the NFL ten years longer than the Patriots. Despite that they have only been in one more Super Bowl than New England. Dallas 8, New England 7. The self proclaimed America's team has lost 3 times, New England 4. Big deal, one game difference. As for Jones, the Patriots current owner has 3 Super Bowl victories and a stadium that was built without one dime of public money.

The problem with places like Dallas is that they've never known what a real championship franchise is. In Boston we know. The Boston Celtics won more titles in just ten years than the Cowboys and Patriots have in their entire histories combined.

Anyway, the Patriots will keep going to Super Bowls while Dallas sits on their ass with the rest of the has beens.
