Romney blimp makes emergency landing

http://uk.news.yahoo.com/romney-campaign-blimp-brought-down-earth-145611187.html

— High winds forced a blimp-like aircraft carrying an advertisement for Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney to make an emergency landing in South Florida.

Davie police say the two people aboard the aircraft got out safely when it landed in a neighborhood around 7:10 p.m. Sunday.

The South Florida Sun Sentinel (sunsent.nl/Sds0g7) reports the blimp was traveling to North Perry Airport in nearby Pembroke Pines. It was flying from Boca Raton, where Monday night's presidential debate between Romney and President Barack Obama will be held at Lynn University.

Police Capt. Dale Engle says the deflated aircraft carried an advertisement that read, "America needs Romney."

No one on the ground was injured.

Hey, I am just glad that a blimp can find work.

I see a blimp every week or so. There are several of them cruising around here. I used to drive by the blimphanger in Opa-Locka every day on my way to work. In the 1980's they tore it down and moved the Goodyear Blimp to Broward County. This is a smaller, less impressive blimp, sort of a mini-sportsblimp.

A minor gasbag advertising a fellow minor gasbag, if you please.
