There is reason to be happy , more domestic production will reduce our vunerability to embargo and produce hundreds of jobs , it will impact the balance of trade positively and boost the national mood.
I don't think it will produce cheaper gas, even though our making more will make oil more availible world wide , the increase in demand in Asia will pretty certainly outstrip the world supply.
If we are smart we won't stop promotion of conservation efforts.
