The US is advising Spanish-speaking residents that they need not declare their immigration status to qualify for food stamps. 'SNAP' (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), includes a Spanish-Language flyer provided to the Mexican Embassy by the USDA. A statement on the flyeremphasized in bold and underlined reads, "You need not divulge information regarding your immigration status in seeking this benefit for your children." A DHS websight ("WelcometoUSA.gov", the U.S. government's official web portal for new immigrants), encourags new immigrants to apply for food stamps, Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, Supplemental Security Income and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families. They are also walked thru voting process. And qualify for Obamacare subsidies. And qualify for government grants. And all without being citizens. Based on data collected households with children headed by an illegal immigrant, 71 percent are estimated to use at least one program, compared to 39 percent for native (U.S. citizen) households with children. Illegal immigrants generally receive benefits on behalf of their U.S.-born children. Eight major welfare programs SSI, TANF, WIC, free/reduced school lunch, food stamps, Medicaid, public housing, and rent subsidies. They also tend to pay little or no income tax.
