Interesting attitude. Kelly said,

“I, for one, cannot believe that a man of Mr. Kennedy’s stature and achievements was put upon this earth for no other reason than to stop an assassin’s bullet,” the princess tells Gallico. “I believe that God allows these certain tragedies to happen, in order to emphasize the man and his achievement, and to inspire those who follow to have the strength and will to accomplish his unfulfilled dreams.”

I have the opinion that no one was put on this Earth to do anything other than find their own destiny and fulfill it. Only a minority of people ever have an idea of what they want to do in life: most people seem to muddle along until they fall into a tolerable niche.  I really doubt that God has much to do with destiny or inspiring anyone to do anything. I say this because I have seen no evidence that supports what Kelly says here.

She made the most of her looks and talent, and pretty much did what her career demanded of her until along came a bachelor king of a country so small he had no need to marry royalty, and Grace Kelly fell into a very comfy career. Good for her.
