That is simply another bloody lie. Many Democrats were against putting the prisoners in a Federal prison in their state. Kansas representatives did not want these guys to serve time at Leavenworth, although it had been almost entirely escape proof over the years..

You keep shrieking bloody murder at how the wicked Democrats used their majority to pass the ACA without any feedback from the idiot Republican'ts.

How is the FACT that the Dems and Obama controlled everything for the 1st 2 years, and despite his pledge at closing Guantanamo, never did??  It's either incompetence or they never intended to close it in the 1st place.  Simply wanted it as a campaign tool.  And you bought it

That is because the President does not, as your poisonous tiny mind tells you, control all the Democrats in the Congress.

The Democrats were perhaps fine with closing Guantanamo, but they were not fine with moving it to the continental US.

If Congress had set up a legal way to deal with "pirates" previous to 9-11,

That is the very beauty of defining them as pirates, the procedures for dealing with pirates are well established , and of course, a bit old fashioned.

Then they needed to have passed anti-pirate legislation before 9-11.

Of course, the GOP would have wanted to include software piracy.
At least including fines that would destitute anyone who tried to deprive Taylor Swift of the 10% royalty she gets on a song that was downloaded.

They did.

It is written into the very Constitution and never repealed.

This is an enumerated power of Congress.

Unfortunately a Congress that loves power but eschews responsibility.
