I like these , but they are pretty pricy.

If willing to pay more than a grand , why not get the take down model?

At this price level the number sold will always be small.

No 30-30 variant?

That would work, but the 30-30 and the 45-70 were designed for tube magazine, so the rifle is thinner .

Spitzer (pointy) bullets need the box mag, also generally are more powerful with flatter trajectory.

I have hunted with a 30-30 Marlin, which costs less than half what these Browning rifles cost. I like it .

The 30-30 is well adapted to conditions here and is one of the most popular calibers for taking deer. The 45-70 is a good alternative and is also pretty good for bear.

Where there is more open country, and the good shots are longer range, there are better choices like the 30-o6 the same diameter as a 30-30 but with more powder.

I have a pump action 30-30, and have had no issues with it either

I have never tried one of those.

Another thing  to add to the list of things I would like to try.
