Just let the women decide. There is no reason not to do this. They have a greater claim to their bodies than the government does.
How would this argument prevent waiting periods?
There is a government interest in protecting persons from murder, that a child is not a person under certain circumstances is a legal conceit.
If there can be improvement in prevention of rape , or control of ovulation I would call these real improvement in the control women have over their bodies , and I would applaud.
But since when has any persons control of his own body been absolute?
The government hasn't given up the right to draft us into soldiers yet has it?
The governments right to demand that a woman and a doctor not commit murder does not seem seriously unreasonable , even if the woman's standard of living is improved and the doctor makes a fortune.
