I hardly think the Pope is strangling anyone.

But he is smarter than you will ever be.

The right wing loons are LOSING.

Gays are getting married. There is more and more support for doing something about Climate Change.

Of course, the main issue is not what is causing it, but what can we do about it?

Yes , I like the way you put that.

Short of a global plague that sharply reduces our number, there is little potential for conservation measures to have much good effect.

But if we have learned how human activity has ill effect on the atmosphere, perhaps we can arrange for more purposeful human engineering to change the atmosphere beneficially.

If the problem is global warming, then we need to do something to eliminate to reduce the effects. What causes it is not important.

If you catch the flu, knowing whom you caught it from is really of little consequence. The goal is to get well.

Those who oppose doing something want to peddle increasing amounts of coal and oil and do not want to consider less polluting alternatives, because it prevents them from getting even richer.

Everyone with half a brain knows that the current economic policy cannot continue forever. It is not sustainable.
Corporations only care about the next year or at most the next few years when the CEO is running the company. When he has made his pile and retires, he could give a crap about what  comes next.

Nobody is ever going to have a really sustainable economy, such a thing is not needed , constant adaptation is better than a steady state .

Individuals are more the cause of global warming than CEOs. What could a Gang of billionaires do to keep the population of India and China from all wanting cars?

If no one tries to invent a sustainable economy, no one will ever achieve one.

Pickin's idea to convert West Texas to gas and wind energy was an excellent one, but Big Oil resisted it, and it came to nothing.

They prefer polluting and profits to the public good. That is why they should be considered the enemy.
