Fogey Party
« on: August 17, 2015, 05:16:01 AM »
Quote
Biden, who is 72, would reinforce the image of the Democratic field as reflecting an older generation. Clinton is 67; Sanders is 73. If he runs, the average age of the six Democratic candidates would be 66. The only one under 60 — indeed, the only one younger than Obama — is former Maryland governor Martin O’Malley, 52.

The average age of the 17 Republican candidates is 58. Four of them are in their 40s: Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, Rubio and Walker.

The age of the core beliefs of the Republican candidates, on the other hand are at least 88 years old: from the pre-Crash Hoover administration.

While the age of the Core beliefs of the Democratic candidates can be tracked back to the origins of the KKK.

Again, you do not know one damned thing about the political history of this country. When the Civil Rights Bill passed and Blacks began to vote in the South, the racists, including the KKK, left the Democratic Party and migrated, first to George Wallace's American Independent Party and then to the Republican Party.  When Reagan ran for president, he made a point to visit Philadelphia Mississippi to open his campaign to show the Dixiecrats and the Wallace followers that he would not go out of his way to prosecute the murders of civil rights workers in the South, and very few were prosecuted until Reagan was out of office. The Grandchildren of the Klansmen are the core of the Republican Party in the South. I do not know how many times I have explained this to your ignorant ass, but here goes again.

Reagan's slogan for years was Government is not the answer to the problem; government IS the problem. He said this at every available opportunity.

This has been a self-fulfilling prophesy, as when Republicans are elected, they indeed become the problem, like Gov. Rick Scott in Florida who was fined for failure to disclose required information and now expects the State to pay his fine. He has been the absolute worst governor in Florida history.

Yea , more funny than serious.

Being a lot younger than Reagan didn't turn out to be a big advantage for Mondale.

For me Obama struck a milestone by being the first president younger than myself.

When the Civil Rights Bill passed and Blacks began to vote in the South, the racists, including the KKK, left the Democratic Party and migrated, first to George Wallace's American Independent Party and then to the Republican Party. yada....blah....etc...

And this is all referred to as revisionist history.  The left loves to claim how the GOP supposedly absorbed the KKK, when that couldn't be further from the truth.  The KKK was a violent racist organization, while the Republican party was founded on the abolition of Slavery.  Democrats, in particular, Southern Democrats, were racist to the core, but the more the general public saw them for who they were, the more outrage was thrust upon them.  They didn't leave the Democrat party, as much as they simply hid their racist positions.  THERE WAS A GREATER % OF REPUBLICANS WHO VOTED FOR THE CIVIL RIGHTS ACT, THAN DEMOCRATS.  It defies logic and rational thought, to think the party that was founded on the abolition of Slavery, and got the Civil Rights act passed, would turn around and welcome members of the KKK.  That's just idiocy, but its understandable.  You folks have point to something as the boogieman, in order to stir fear and subsequently following.

Point being, the notion that the GOP is embracing some 88year old political mindset to try and counter the fact that the current Democrat nominees, could be anyone's grandparent, outside of O'Malley of course, can be easily countered by the FACTUAL political foundations of the Democrat party itself

Reagan's slogan for years was Government is not the answer to the problem; government IS the problem. He said this at every available opportunity.

Which has absolutely squat to do with which party the KKK was embraced by, but thank you for the reminder that bigger Government is the biggest problem facing this country

Continue to bask in your abysmal ignorance, sirs.  The mere existence of racists like Jesse Helms and Strom Thurmond and Trent Lott's remeniscences of the "Good Old Days" contradict your idiotic rants about the modern Democratic Party having anything to do with the KKK.

Who wants to repeal the Voting Rights Act? The Republican'ts. They want to prevent Balcks and other poor people from voting, and have said so in their meetings.
